Hotel La Posada de Atahualpa

The hotel is quite old, and the floors in our room creak with almost every step, which makes it noisy. The bathroom is also outdated and wasn’t cleaned properly, especially the mold on the walls and in the shower. The breakfast is decent, but it could definitely be improved, as the selection is very basic.

Stefan is amazing. Great value-big rooms, heated, big bathrooms, warm/hot water. Stefan leaves the sweetest messages on your breakfast take-away. I was worried about tge location. It's ok. Safe but not the best...but tge value is incredible and Stefan is not to be missed!

Matress and room in general could use update. But not a deal breaker.

Comfortable bed and great staff. Maggie at the front desk went above and beyond. She is an asset to business. I will never forget her kindness. All the staff were great. No complaints

Great place to stay in Cusco!

Really kind and accommodating staff and charming room. Cozy and beautiful building on quiet street. They stored my luggage for free and made sure I got food when I misunderstood what time breakfast ended. Perfect first night in Cusco.

The breakfast was good! The location is only a 15 minute walk from downtown Cusco!

Its was all pretty good. Staff was very friendly, 15 minute walk from the city center. Next to a fairly common road, room was clean everything worked. Noise travels very easily. Next to windows right along the walkway to your room, as well as blinds not fully covering the windows if you decide to draw the shades.

It’s exactly as advertised. The people are so kind and helpful. Short walk to the central plaza but where the hotel is it’s quiet and no drama.

Great breakfast, especially possibility to have packed breakfast for our early excursion which is really amazing. Receptionist are very helpful always especially Maggie We were charged more than stated on booking. Probably due to tax applied to Peruvian and not supposed to apply on foreign tourist

We really like this place, which is why we chose to return after our trip around the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. This time we stayed in a double room, and it turned out to be even better than the family room we had before. The room was slightly renovated, very clean, and overlooked the inner courtyard, making it quiet at night and perfect for a good night’s sleep. Even though some guests wake up early for excursions, it didn’t disturb our rest. Maggie was, as always, incredibly helpful and welcoming. Not an issue for us but a head ups just in case ; The location is not right in the center, but it’s only a 10–15 minute walk from Plaza de Armas.

Calm, comfortable hotel in Cusco. You can plan your excursions and came back to the hotel to rest before the next one. They will take care of your language and will wait for you with coca tea and smile. nothing

Like the style, very pretty, bed and bedding good and comfortable, staff supper friendly and always willing to help, value very good. In one occasion the sheets were not so clean (hair). In one of the two rooms we stayed, there was no support to soap and shampoo. Breakfast not always fully available at 7:00 (around 7:10 but we were always in a rush to attractions). Suggestion for improvement is to add hair dryer and maybe a smart TV instead TV cable.

We loved this property! We enjoyed the breakfast, comfortable beds with warm blankets, and the ability to book a triple. Above all, Maggie and the other hotel staff were simply amazing. On our first night, we had an early train ride and they packed us breakfast to go. On our second stay, 4 of our group arrived very sick. They boiled us hot water for tea, let us rest, and helped problem solve anything we needed. We also loved the local food establishments including multiple restaurants, a break shop, a pharmacy, convenient store, etc. all located within one block!

The bed is a double not a queen size. Limited options for the breakfast buffet. (Eggs and fresh fruit could be added)

Clean spacious room, breakfast, location and friendly staff….everything! Maggie at the front desk is amazing. She will give you tips on local tours, etc and assist with bookings if needed. Like it all!

We storedour luggage for the time when we were out of Cusco for Machu Picchu trip Rooms and facilities are very old. We stayed at 2 Rooms and there was a leaking in both bathrooms. Shower and bathtubes are old. Need renovation or better replacement. We booked a twin room but had to stay in a double room for the first night since the hotel didn't had twin rooms available. Breakfast is very basic. It's ok for a day or two but not for more

It was a very nice stay in Cousco. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast has a nice selection, the rooms are confy and have a nice hot shower. The let us leave our luggage in the hotel when we went on a 3 day Machu Picchu tour and even let us do a early check-in! The rooms could be a little warmer but this is true for every room in Peru in the high altitude region that we have stayed. Also, the public man toilet in the restaurant sometimes did not have toilet paper or soap. But these are only minor issues.

Location Receptionists are rude and seeing tourists as cash cows. Promised included heating is absent. A receptionist offered an electric heater for a hefty fee though. Either no hot water or too hot almost boiling water - the choice in the shower.
