Hyatt Place Des Moines/Downtown

Decent location. Just needs updated. Rooms had lots of space

Front desk staff was rude. Breakfast attendant never said a word to anyone but kept everything stocked. Breakfast itself was decent. Shower in our room had slight mold in the grout and the towel rack was rusty. if you tried to take a hot shower the water pressure dropped to almost nothing. Remote control for the TV didn't work so had to use buttons on tv which was annoyingly inconvenient. I didn't notice it until we came back to hotel at 1130pm, so didn't complain....just went to sleep instead. With front desk staff seeming so crabby and inconvenienced just by us being there I didn't bother to complain. Paid a lot of money to stay there so expect better.

We arrived at 8:30pm and the hotel parking lot was already full so we had to drive around to find parking space at a public garage and paid $34 for parking instead of the $16 the hotel check in person told us. We got a double bed instead of the king bed that we booked since the hotel over sold the king bed. We had higher expectations for Hyatt hotels and were very disappointed with our stay.

Room clean sofa bed had clean sheets but also sheets from previous guest still present (not good). Room and adequate for overnight stay, Breakfast basic.

Nice stay at the Hyatt Place in downtown Des Moines. Great location, very walkable. Large room, comfy but creaky bed. Would not have a problem staying here again. Included breakfast but can't speak to it

It was a good experience. We didn't eat breakfast and parked in the 4th and Grand parking ramp for $10.00 per day.

This hotel was disappointing. The room was not very clean. The sofa was old and dingy. Only one elevator worked. The treadmills were both broken as was the ice machine.

Rundown. Can’t turn on the shower without getting wet and leaking from outside of the door. Unless you have the shower head just right, standing water in bathroom. Tiny sink. Turning on water in sink makes shower cold. Room was very run down. Not worth the money spent.

Our stay was decent overall. The biggest downside was the parking situation. Parking is located in a garage across the street, but that wasn't disclosed when we booked the room. It would have been helpful to know that in advance so we could plan accordingly. Aside from that, everything else was fine, and we had a pleasant enough stay.

The young lady at front desk was amazing, full of local suggestions and simply kind. Parking was a surprise. I pd $30 for 'hotel' parking for the 1 night. Kinda threw me off yet was a great stay overall.

The room was perfect for our needs. The staff that was there for check in was amazing. Parking for check in was not ideal. There was very limited parking to check in. We were able to take the skywalk to Casey's Center. Which is exactly what we needed.
