Detroit Foundation Hotel

We chose Foundation Hotel as our wedding weekend stay and have absolutely no regrets! From valet to the room service everything was exceptional. I couldn’t recommend it more and can’t wait to return!

Clean rooms and friendly staff

This was my First time at "The Foundation ", I loved it. My Room was Comfortable, the Bed was Very Nice, the location was Perfect. The only thing that they could have been better is if their had been a Bottle of Bourbon on the Mini bar.

Beautiful! the sink wouldn't drain very well

Great experience. Staff was great! One thing, if you need ice you have to call down and there is no free water that we could see so make sure to buy some before you get there. Other than that, the property is great, rooms were quite spacious and enjoyed our time. Would recommend and would go back for sure.

Charge credit card 400 twice which lowers available balance after paying Expedia up front for a package price. You kinda have to search for items in the room. Waste basket hidden under sink and iron hidden in the drawer. No microwave. Great location

Loved the feel of the redone fire station! Really authentic place to stay. The staff were really helpful and attentive.

Only critique of the hotel were the amenities. Most boutique hotels we visit have a small portable speaker in the room, the Foundation has a function to utilize Pandora through the room tv; it was VERY user unfriendly. Also the lamps next to the bed should be lower or have some feature to allow you to easily turn the lamps on/off from the bed.

We loved the modern room with the historical integrity of the building being maintained. Gracious staff that were very helpful and kind. We enjoyed the atmosphere at Apparatus and would definitely stay again.

I love the fact that the building was refurbished so beautifully and that it was originally the first firehouse in Detroit! Our room had a beautiful view of so many architecturally important buikdings. All of the staff treated us very well and went above and beyond to be sure we had a wonderful stay. Thank you! Everything was wonderful!
