Overlooking the sea in the beautiful Lapad Bay, the Kompas hotel can be found near a pebbly beach and the popular promenade, only a 15-minute bus ride from Dubrovnik's Old Town. Location is ideal, close to old town Dubrovnik yet a world away, on the promenade by the sea. There you will find romantic seaside restaurants and a beach. You can take relaxing walks to the sound of the gentle waves. It is safe and well maintained.

A very nice hotel with spacious rooms and excellent value for money. The breakfast offered an incredible variety of options, and the staff were welcoming, attentive, and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located between the city's two main bays. There is a bus stop on the parallel street with easy access to the Old Town, and it's only about a 10-minute walk from what was arguably the best pizza place I visited (Vito's Napoletana Pizzeria) as well as several great bars and restaurants nearby. Although there is a daily housekeeping service in the mornings, and the towels were changed regularly while the room was kept tidy, it would have been even better if the room had also been vacuumed on a daily basis rather than only after guests checked out.

The property is in good shape, feels modern, and elegant. The views from our room and the lobby were breathtaking. The room we had was also spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The house keeping service was excellent (they did make up the room multiple times during the day, which was so refreshing). The breakfast was also great with a good range of selections and an omelette station. The beach is just outside the hotel, which is just lovely. There are good restaurants within walking distance. The access to the old town is easy. I do recommend taking uber (~€10), but technically you can walk there. They also helped us celebrate a birthday with sending up a complementary cake, which we appreciate! Everything was great, but the staff might have been a tad cold (although they were very professional and polite).

Comfortable room and nice view. Friendly staff. Breakfast needs higher quality ingredients. Eg. real orange juice…better preparation of eggs

The swimming pool was a bit chilly and small; there was an issue with the hot water in the spa and showers. The steam bath was also not heated up to the desired temperature. I think that they tried to do some savings on the spa facilities.

Everything, perfect TVs lack customization of content, no smart features like Chromecast, Youtube, Netflix etc., just few on-demand movies and some TV channels

Staff was excellent: warm, professional, helpful. The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed the access to the saunas and gym. There wasn’t much around the hotel to walk to dinner off season but the restaurant in house was nice.

Hotel is at amazing locatino with amazing view. Staff is welcoming, kind and professional starting from reception, than spa and resturant. It bit unusual to see people at reception not having a chair to sit on during work time when they do not have guests checking in or checking out. I strongly belive that the conditions for employes should be as good as for the guests.

We had a great view from our room, which had a nice little balcony and lots of sunshine. The room was efficiently equipped and very clean. Breakfast included a buffet and a variety of items to order from the kitchen. Staff were very friendly. The location is close to a public beach and close to public transport, which is included in the "Dubrovnik Pass": one bus line stops in front of the house, 2 more a short walk away. The room was nice but pretty tight.

Fantastic location a short taxi ride from the old town. Great room. Lovely swimming pool both inside and outside. Good food and drinks. A little expensive.

On booking.com, we selected Queen beds, and got connected beds instead!

The view and the staff. The way the parking works, where you have to wait quite a lot to get your car to go to the city or other places, and the pool is very small for the amount of the people that were acomodated in the hotel!
