Wonderful hotel, very professionally maintained and managed. Outstanding location, right on a gorgeous stretch of the Animas River. The bed was uncomfortably soft and gave me a back ache.

Exceptional

The staff were pleasant and helpful. The warm chocolate chip cookies we received upon check-in were really nice. The restaurants were not busy and the food was good. The property itself needs a refresh. The carpeting appears old and worn, and the bedding had some small holes in the duvet. The handicapped parking is quite a ways from the wheelchair ramp.

Road trip through Colorado and stopped in Durango for two nights. Hilton was in a prime downtown location. Beautiful hotel, restaurants on premises, parking, indoor pool and the rooms were clean , beds were comfortable and appreciated the noon checkout. Definitely would stay here again .

got a walk out style, very large room on the river side. Loved it! Pet friendly and great access to the walking/ biking path. Made our stay here very comfortable. And of course, love the cookies!

Location right on the river and a short walk to downtown Double queen room was big enough for 4 people, double cup coffee maker, fridge and microwave The pool was indoor extremely humid and uncomfortable for watching children. It was often crowded. Felt the parking fee was ridiculous

1. Only got to know this towards the end of the trip - My 13 year daughter was walking the dogs in the dog park inside the hotel. This was on day 1 / 2 and was followed inside and harassed by a homeless person (There are several who live around the property and also inside of it - dog walking area, walk to the river etc). This person came within a yard and tried to touch her. My wife and elder daughter were close and noticed this - ran to her and screamed. The person ran away. They both (My elder daughter and wife) wen to the reception and reported - they didnt scream, didnt create a scene but simply stated facts. I all fairness the hotel front office staff did apologise. They didnt tell me till the end of the stay (I would not be so calm in that situation). To their surprise the hotel staff didnt seem surprised though - seemed like its a common occurence. No one from the Management even bothered to revert to them, no action was taken (The person continued to linger for the next 2-3 days) and my daughters simply avoided going to that area. The younger one cried, she has never experienced anything like this. Till now the hotel has not reverted back to us. 2. We had dogs and the receptionist offered to waive 2 days -never did infact gaslighting when I mentioned it

This hotel is very cozy and convenient. We enjoyed our stay. The staff are fantastic. The interior was somewhat dated, but not in gross way. Just felt charming in an old school way. Listening to the river outside our patio put me right to sleep. We would definitely stay there again.

Parking fee

The only issue I had was one night I was talking to my wife and using my key card, I walked into another guest's room. My card worked in a different room than mine. I told the front counter person and she changed my card and said she would inform the other guest to change their card.
