100% would recommend staying here. It’s a slice of life in the late 1800’s. The room was clean and welcoming with authentic period furniture. We had drinks and appetizers at The Office Spiritorium which were amazing. There were preserved items from the hotel’s history in display cases, which were really interesting context for the hotel history. We also went over to the Diamond Belle Saloon for dinner and had such a great time listening to the piano music and experiencing an old west saloon. The food was great. All of the staff - the front desk and both restaurants we went to were very friendly and welcoming. Great place!

Great coffee available in the morning. Walkable to many restaurants, shops, and the historical train station. Live music every night at 2 of the hotel restaurants.

The room for the most part was clean however the bed sheets were dirty and had to be changed.

Such a wonderful experience. Loved Belle’s Saloon

The room was clean and adequate. Bathroom is super small but to be expected in a historic building!

Nice hotel. Historic. The bar/restaurant was nice with live ragtime music.

Toilet was dirty, found someone's dirty sock in the room. Bed was terrible, we both woke up in pain, mattress was old and lumpy. Chairs felt like you were sitting on a bowling ball. Plumbing is horrible, water changed temperatures in the shower, and had no water pressure. Bathroom sink was cracked. Off street parking meant you had to walk 1.5 blocks to where you parked. Not convenient at all. When we complained we got a better room, which was decent. Food in the bar was served cold.

Bed too soft. Mattress need replacing. Bathroom needs update. Maids did excellent job servicing room.

Charming and historic room with a great hotel location. We would stay again. FYI, it is close to the train tracks so don't plan to sleep in. 😁

The bathroom was small and toilet was a bit cramped against the wall, but I appreciate that it’s an old building.

Our first night started horribly and pretty much ruined our stay. A person was trying to break into our room at 2am. Called front desk said she will call non-emergency hotline so cops drive by the area. I waited the entire night, yelled at the would be criminal who stayed a few in the dark as I stared at them. I did not see any cop lights. We were up all night because we were scared for our safety. No updates whatsover until I asked the next day. They said hotel cameras caught the entire things but no arrests?!? Staff also said an alarm gets tripped as soon as the emergency ladder gets pulled down. So if the alarm worked, why the slow to no response? I had to yell and scream at the persin and punched the windows which stopped what they were planning on doing. They offered to switch rooms but declined since we were already settled. Not much concessions offered aside from removing the damned historic daily fees and a $49 ribeye steak for my wife who celebrated her birthday at their awful Mahogany grille. Hotel came up short and issue was handled horribly. I do not recommend. Also, NEVER LEAVE YOUR WINDOWS OPEN! Mine were locked but did not deter the crazies that must be Durango Colorado people. We never slept the entire stay. I hated this trip and wished we went somewhere else.

It is an historic hotel in a great location, so in that context it was amazing. It’s part hotel and part museum complete with a saloon. The building is over 137 years old and an icon of the downtown area. You’ll feel like you are in a Time Machine, so that is why we loved it. You just have to keep in mind it’s super well maintained but it’s just old and historic so it doesn’t have modern amenities in the most of rooms for example. We will stay here again.

Very cool old west decor in downtown Durango. Lots of options for dining and entertainment.

I loved the building itself. Its old, and historic. The room was incredibly small. It was hard to open our 3 suitcases at the same time. The beds were the worst! So hard and bouncy. My husband could not sleep at all and we had to leave early in the morning because of it. I think if they changed the beds, everything else is workable.

Historically decorated hotel with a small clean room and nice bathroom with small shower area. Excellent cooperative staffs. In the heart of downtown. Have a restaurant inside and designated parking nearby.

Between the prime Main Avenue location—just blocks from the train depot—and the unforgettable decor and nightlife, staying here was a highlight of the trip. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Durango!

It was great except for the night we came in and the room had not been serviced. Of course housekeeping was gone so we were brought up some towels from staff but would have preferred the room made up as our door hanger requested.

    Even was awesome
