The Mitre, Hampton Court

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and bed/pillows were supremely comfortable. Nothing really although breakfast was a little disappointing.

Its literally across the road from Hampton Court - it also appears to be the only somewhat traditional hotel :). So actually my expectations were more like: location is everything, but turns out it was a really, really pleasant stay full of friendly staff, comfy rooms, nice food, and a gorgeous location. It was the hottest day ever recorded so yeah it didn't have a proper aircon but they did bring in some standalone units which just about won the battle - Location to the castle is obvious but there are also some amazing parks around. Honestly i cannot think of anything negative to say - sure it aint cheap but it felt we were at least paying a local company / family :).

Great location, wonderful building - idiosyncratic but charming. Overlooking the river with a variety of spaces to eat and drink. Food excellent as was the service in all areas.

The property is beautiful- it’s in a great location and has history. The breakfast was great- the member of staff was very attentive at breakfast, the views were stunning and a good selection. The food was outstanding at breakfast. The wine on check in was also a lovely touch, as was the treats for our dog. There were a couple of issues with our stay which we find disappointing given the price. The first issue was parking- due to an event (either the wedding or the Tesla event) we had no parking until late evening and were only informed of this on arrival. This meant we were constantly changing space and were stuck. We had 4 hours in one space, then had to move, before we’d have to then check in and move again. In the end because of all the hassle we found a space and paid for it for 2 days away from the property. We messaged and spoke with staff during our stress- no response to the message and staff were dismissive and offered no solutions including where the nearest 24 hour parking was. We were extremely deflated on arrival and were questioning whether to go home. The second issue was the wedding/open to members of public. We appreciate the property hosts weddings which isn’t a problem as such, but they need more staffing around this. The service was slow yesterday in the restaurant and staff were not very attentive. There was minimal space in the courtyard and we got dressed up for a boatrip with the hotel to which we were advised there was no space and when we asked if there were other companies the staff at the boat company wouldn’t provide those details. We had to walk to a separate location to find another company for the boat trip. Overall, the property is beautiful but they are hosting so much within it they forget about their actual day to day guests. However, the breakfast service certainly did make up for the poor service (in places) yesterday. Thank you to the member of staff who served breakfast this morning- he was great.

This hotel was a knockout for us. Everything is simply beautiful, tasteful and comfortable. The room was so quiet and lots of little touches around the hotel made it feel luxurious. Continental breakfast was lovely. Good coffee, great choice of tea’s. I loved the crockery. What wasn’t clear was the cooked breakfast options. Because they had prices on them I assumed they were an additional cost but I overhead that this was just for ‘walk ins’ not residents. Unfortunately that was too late for us but we did enjoy what we had very much.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Mitre Hotel. We were 4 adults and 2 dogs. The hotel is very dog friendly. We had dog beds, treats, towels and bowls in our room. Our room was private, spacious and cool. There was no air con but we didn't need it - even though it was hot weather. We had a lovely private garden area that was always partly shedy and was perfect for the dogs as well as for us to chill out in. My daughter had the room about with a Julie balcony looking onto our garden. It felt like we had a private house to ourselves with the added benefit of onside restaurants. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was good. The breakfast restaurant is lovely and the dogs could come to breakfast with us. There was a good selection of hot and cold food on offer. We ate at the terrace restaurant, which was a bit pricey for the selection of food on offer, but was such a lovely location we thought we would indulge. There's not much parking. We got parked the first night but parked at the railway station the second night, which has tons of spaces, is only £2 more expensive and is only a 2 minute walk away. Nothing. Loved every minute ute!

The Mitre is just a delightful place - just opposite the entrance of Hampton Court Palace and located next to a beautiful part of the river. The rooms are beautiful and every area of the Hotel is decorated with quaint little things - and the library is a wonderful space. Why is there a Jukebox in the library? Just kidding - it's a great place, nothing to complain about.

Great room very comfy , bed was great , very clean , shower great. Value for money perfect to visit Hampton court . The evening meal was superb can’t fault it. Next time we come will ask for a room with a view over the river. Noisy air con , view over the roof not great , a little concerned about the hot water ,it was scolding hot .
