Room was clean. Staff was good, could have known a little more about activities in area. Nice balcony.
-
The room was clean and spacious but once you turn on the shower it smelled like sewer in the entire bathroom. They need to check the P-trap or maybe check the pipes because the shower smells pungent when the water is on.

We enjoyed the breakfast and housekeeping did a great job. Wonderful stay.

We’ve been staying here for years and each year it gets significantly worse. There were stains on the headboard, mold in the shower and the property itself is just rundown.
-
Overall positive experience. We had a problem with our bathroom drainage and staff quickly accommodated us. Breakfast was great and the views from the balcony were fantastic-- especially during sunset. The pool was nice as well.

Place has always been very lovely however two of the rooms we were in had a very strange sewage odor, which was not very pleasant. Other than that, the room was very clean very comfortable and the staff was excellent. The property is in an excellent location. hopefully they can get this sewage smell worked out.

Asked for a late check out and they still locked us out (at 11:30) and had to argue with them about it to get back in. Overall the room seemed clean but the shower had a very bad smell. Bed was comfortable though. Outside of the room was not super clean - could use improvement. View and location are nice. We might try it again at another time because location is pretty great. We love Moonlight Beach.

I went to visit a family member for the weekend and the hotel was ok. We got a room on the first floor and we could hear what was going on outdoors plus between the rooms. Sound carried way too close, but I don’t know if that’s because I slept on the sofa bed, which was NOT comfortable either. At the end of the day, it did the job.

Cereal and toast were OK waffles frozen limited fruit

However, the full bathroom with a stand alone shower and a separate tub had only one little towel rack---the one attached to the shower door. This is poor design and inconsiderate to this guest. Also, the balcony screen slider was torn and it was very difficult to slide. All the flat areas are well cleaned, but many of the stairways look like they haven't been cleaned in weeks---dust bunnies. One last annoyance was that the room keys stopped working too soon.

The main problem is that the price to stay here has gone up and up and up every year and the quality of the hotel has remained very stagnant. The on location restaurant / bar has remained “under construction” / “to come soon” for around 10 years. This is a mid-range hotel at best, but they keep raising prices that are equal to what other Beach Resort Hotels in the San Diego area charge with no nearly the luxury or amenities that others offer. The only reason I keep coming back here each year is due to its proximity to my old friends that live very close to the property.

Facility was nice. Could be amazing. Everything could’ve just been better a little bit cleaner breakfast could’ve been a little bit better. The view was amazing. Rooms were decent and clean enough.
-
overall good. but quite disappointed with their ocean view room. I got the full ocean view but you can't really see the ocean.
-
Location Front desk guy rude. No soap or shampoo in dispensers bare minimum help I ordered uber to get supplies and met the guy in the lobby and the front desk guy was lounging being lazy on his phone and I asked him did anyone come for a delivery acted very uninterested. So sad place is decent but lazy work ethic in room and out. Should have stayed else where.

Excellent location with very large rooms.

This next thing is the hotel's fault, but there is at least one train per hour, and it blows the haorn so loud. Hotel is very close to the train tracks. They don't clean the rooms every day. We requested extra towels and they never showed up.

Nice ocean view

This place is okay. Just fine. Not special. Breakfast was bare bones. Pool and spa were okay but not special. The pix make it look nicer than it really is. Rooms were good. New floors and kitchenette was pretty nice. Rooms were clean and views of ocean were decent. The location is the best part about this place.

The ocean view from the balcony and everything is within walking distance

When we first arrived, there was no one at the lobby/front desk. I walked around the building trying to figure out where someone was and waited what felt like an eternity, especially since I had a toddler who was already fussy from the long drive. In reality, we waited about 20 minutes before a guy approached us. I had no idea he was the front desk person because he walked in with someone who appeared to be his significant other and was only wearing a white shirt with no uniform or anything identifying him as hotel staff. He did greet us and checked us in, but the whole situation was very unusual and not what I expected when arriving at a hotel. The hotel states that breakfast is served from 7:30–9:30 AM and advertises eggs, sausage, and bagels. Unfortunately, they were already out of those items by around 8 AM, leaving toast as the main hot-food option. They did have cereal and milk available, but if you’re advertising a breakfast with certain items, I would expect those items to actually be available during the breakfast hours. Then there was our room. We booked a king suite, and unfortunately, there were ants all over the room. The room also looked like it had only been semi-cleaned. We had two rolls of toilet paper and no Kleenex. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. For what we paid, we expected a clean room, basic amenities, and a more profession
