Clarion Hotel & Suites Fairbanks near Ft. Wainwright

While our room was clean, the lobby and common areas were not. It was dreary, dated and the carpet looked like it had not been cleaned in many years. The room was large. The towels and linens were very cheap and rough. The staff gets an A+. They were friendly and went out of their way to provide information. The free breakfast was good with fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, etc.. We did expect a better quality room for the price.

Black out curtains would work well if they were again the wall or window, but 4” away it allows in a lot of light. The window AC is in the window behind the curtains.

The room was large and clean. The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. The hotel was convenient to all the Fairbanks attractions. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The room was spacious, but neither well appointed nor maintained. Not enough chairs, a very small tv and a damaged set of drawers try to fill the room. Bed was nice and comfortable. Corridors and lobby are dark and uninviting. Staff do not smile, and are not very helpful. Breakfast is average, but the restaurant in the basement is dark with two portable airconditioners and air trunking leading to the ceiling.

The staff offered to fix although it was late and I was tired and told them that if I died that was due to the window not latching and if someone came through that would be the way. Bad. Terrible. We laughed then they hopefully fixed the window with a request for maintenance to tend to their broken window latch. ?

Great place to stay!!

The location is convenient, close to the town, shops and restaurants. The room is clean and appears well maintained. However, the carpet and wall in the public area, such as hallway and dining area, is quite old and need to be replaced or repainted. The elevator is squeaky and needs to be maintained and lubricated. However, the staff is friendly and helpful.

The guy who made breakfast was very good The lady who was in the restaurant was friendly Attitude of most of the people that were the staff needs improvement House cleaning was very bad, for the money that you pay was very bad, had to ask for house cleaning to be done, most time we had to take our rubbish out The only thing that put it above a Backpackers motel was that you didn't have to share a bathroom Never ever seen them use the vacuum I was there for a week before they done any cleaning of the bathroom and it was only when I asked for it to be done Would not recommend it at all

Good value for money, especially in March. 24-hour reception was very helpful for late arrival. The entrance area is practical, with a first space where you can wait indoors and a second area with reception and a small café offering free coffee and water refill. Heating worked well, and overall the stay was acceptable for a short visit. The hotel is quite old and needs maintenance. On the first night, the bathroom water didn’t work and the room phone was broken, so we had to go downstairs to ask for help. The room was never cleaned during our stay. The door didn’t close properly, with gaps letting in light and cold air. Breakfast is included but very poor and not recommended.

Wonderful customer service some of the best we’ve ever experienced. Manager personally helped us out in getting to our Alaskan Railroad train on time. Absolutely wonderful customer service.

All the staff was friendly and helpful.. especially Eliza, she had very good recommendations on where to eat and things to do, she made our stay like we where someone special, she always asked about our day and what we did.. I would recommend staying here..

Rooms were dirty and run down. Overall condition of the motel is very poor.
