Lemon Tree Stay

Breakfast, room, and verandas at the top and bottom. Finding it was hard. It is easy to walk by.

It was so thoughtfully restored and very easy going.

Excellent staff, friendly, fluent in English and very helpful! It's a very pleasant hidden gem, a bit hard to find at first behind a wall set back from the road (look for the yellow door in the middle of "Free Palestine"!), but once you find it it's a great location, walkable to the Old Town and many restaurants. The breakfast was very good too. Only one thing: after 8:00 pm you need to enter the locked outside door with a code...and the code didn't work! At least not right away. We had to try 10+ times. So that was nerve-wracking as we were out in the dark...they had provided a number for after-hours help but with our foreign phone we were also having difficulty placing the call. So we were relieved when finally the door opened. Another guest had the same difficulty.

Super helpful staff and free bikes for rental. Super cozy courtyard and rooftop terrace for relaxing with a cup of tea from the kitchen. Cozy and sweet!

Clean with very friendly staff. Centrally located with free parking about a 5 minute walk away. Very small room and the bathroom was very dark with poor lighting.

Very well located, super clean and comfy. Staff is very kind and helpful. We could do laundry and they allow us to use the facilities even after checking out. The room we got was a little tiny, for 1 person is ok but for 2 feels a little cramped.

Best breakfasts I've been served on the entire two week trip in Portugal. Served at the kitchen dining table or on the patio as desired. A lovely bowl of fresh fruit to start with, then eggs or yogurt. Fresh juice. Homemade cake. Hip and homey atmosphere in an old building that's been thoroughly remodeled inside with modern clean surfaces. Good-sized room that included a table and chairs and a small balcony overlooking the street. Very helpful and informative staff. Also, they will do laundry for you, which is a big bonus on a long trip. Bathroom was very cute with fun tile and a stone or marble sink and good-sized shower. However, it was a bit dark (maybe paint that hip black ceiling white?) and there was no shelf or counter to set items down. Pretty much a one-person-at-a-time bathroom. Also, my husband had a stuffy nose sometimes in the room. That seemed strange since the surfaces are very clean and there's no carpeting. The only thing I could think of is maybe there's some dust or mold in the split AC.

For the place itself, the rooms are clean and the breakfast was wonderful. I wish I stayed more and will definitely try and visit again Nothing.

Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. We appreciated that you could buy drinks from the fridge with just a few euros.

The staff, Carole and Rachel were amazing. So helpful, friendly and kind. The breakfast was wonderful. Excellent location for walking. The room was a bit small but this is minor. Also, breakfast was served on the patio which would be fine in the summer but not November.

The staff were exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and warm. Like staying with family. The room was everything we needed and had an old world of Portugal feel. That would have been more comfortable with a mattress foam topper.
