Roots Hotel

The hotel rooms are big apartment style with mini kitchen and a sleeper sofa area. There is a separate bedroom and bathroom. The beds are comfortable with nice cotton sheets for cooler sleeping. The AC works great which is super important as it is hot in the south of Portugal in the summer. The staff are warm and welcoming. I spend 20 or so nights a year in Europe and I would definitely recommend this small hotel.

Near to city center with good valur

The hotel is on the edge of the historic core of Faro (which is beautiful). However, the area immediately around the hotel is in a bit of decline. It never felt unsafe though.

The property was sparkling clean and well equipped with a kitchen. The location is very conveniently within walking distance of everything!

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in the heat of Portugal’s summer. Check-in was a breeze with Daniella and Iris. Room was large and had everything to self-sustain for several days. It had a kitchenette with a stove, toaster, water pot, microwave and fridge as well as all types of dishes. It was about 100F when I was here, so the A/C in the room was amazing with ability for you to change the temp inside your room. I had a small balcony with a view of the pool with 2 chairs and a table and another larger chair (enjoyed coffee on the balcony). Bed was comfortable, lots of pillows and bathroom was small but worked just fine for one person. Rainfall shower head with great pressure and heat. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean with a small deck and they provided pool towels. VERY close to old town, Ria Formosa, boat tours, wine tastings, restaurants, etc. Excellent location. Phenomenal group of folks working here, cordial, friendly, helpful and simply just kind to the throngs of tourists coming through their doors. I had a small issue with a neighboring room which was resolved instantly. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend this hotel while visiting Faro! neighborhood was a bit run down, but within a km away, at the marina/old town

Clean, well equipped and centrally located. Nothing.

We enjoyed staying here as it was in a great location close to the train and spots to eat. Not far from Marina and our tour meet up and shopping district. The hotel was basic yet clean and minimalist and provided necessities for cooking if you so choose. Would stay at another Roots again if there was one. Not much to not like.

My stay at Roots Hotel was very enjoyable. The reception staff were extremely kind and helpful, which made a great first impression. The room was beautiful, with a small balcony overlooking the pool – a very pleasant place to relax. A lovely birthday surprise awaited me in the room: a “towel cake,” which was a very thoughtful and original gesture and made my stay even more special. Another big plus was the free coffee available all day in the breakfast area. The hotel also has an excellent location – everything is within easy reach, which makes exploring the area very convenient. I would definitely love to come back again. It was a wonderful time in a beautiful place.

Roots Hotel is in a fantastic location- a few minutes walk to the train and bus station and a few minutes walk the other direction to great restaurants. The hotel is newer and everything is very clean. We had a one bedroom suite which was very spacious. We appreciated the number of hangers! We really enjoyed the balcony. The plunge pool is refreshingly nice after a hot day. Staff are friendly and informative. Would highly recommended. Can’t think of anything. It was all great! Can’t comment on the breakfast boxes as we didn’t try them.

Hotel had a warmth to it. Very clean, one bedroom apartment was spacious with a lovely balcony. Great amenities. Close to restaurants, marina, train and bus station. like being the first guest ever A lot of thought with the traveler in mind was put into this apartment. Comfortable bed with choice of blanket or heavy comforter, amazing shower that had no surprise hot or cold bursts when someone else drew water, good black out curtains on both of the doors/windows to the balconies, plenty of nice dishes, pots and pans and silverware, all spotless and organized. There are plenty of places to relax in the common area and pool with fresh towels at the front desk. A big plus for me was the automatic coffee machine by the terrace that offered free tasty cappuccino, americano, hot chocolate and tea any time of the day. The location just a short walk from the train station also meant it was close to everything else including some great food cafe choices, old town and the marina. This unit was absolutely spotless from countertops to floor. One of the top 10 for us but it would be nice to have some salt and pepper, even a few packets with the sugar.

We only booked for one night and weren't able to experience breakfast because we had to leave for the Faro Airport at 3 AM. The unit and terrace were absolutely impressive! We enjoyed how spacious and well-equipped the unit was, and the spacious, adorably decorated terrace was amazing! Sooooo CUTE!!! We have only high praise for this eco-conscious, sustainability-focused, charming property. Not applicable to this property...the staff was great, the property charming, and the amenities were ample. The only thing we couldn't do was park in the garage, due to the size of our small sedan, but the front desk staff allowed us to park right outside the entryway. This worked out extremely well for us for loading and unloading our luggage.

Had a great stay. The kitchen was well stocked with necessary utensils and just few mins walk to faro old town..

Very clean and modernized. The location was excellent, close and walkable to many restaurants and shops. Great outdoor patio in the rear that was very quiet. The staff spoke English which was very handy.
