Was very clean and the stuff very friendly. The breakfast was very good.

This is a traditional riad house in a residential area. You can go up to the rooftop and see ladies putting up laundry on the neighbouring roofs. The views are breathtaking so I went up to the roof every day after breakfast before we set off. Breakfast was lovely, and so filling, we easily skipped lunch for a couple of days. Staff were wonderfully considerate, and Mustapha was an absolute star of this show! Location is great, 3 minute walk from the main attractions, and just round the corner the market begins! This is a residential area, so you can hear children and dark alleyways can be intimidating at night. Some of the furniture, especially on the roof, is not new.

The people are so nice, staff is the nicest you will meet! Also the rooms are beautiful and the whole riad is just magical. Its in the middle of the medinna so maybe hard to find, but they will pick you up. And always want to walk with you. We knew the way pretty fast and its quite easy from entrance medina

It was an oasis right in the middle of the Fez Medina... 5 minute walk to all the main attractions, yet quiet, luxurious and personal. This establishment should really be listed in the Small Luxury Hotels book, from a welcome tea and biscuits, to the personal and highly professional services of Abdul and Mustapha along with an amazing breakfast, stunning rooms and a picture perfect rooftop to enjoy a sunset drink (BYO of course)... Can't fault it. Loved it all BUT make sure you take advantage of the transport service however you arrive... Otherwise you may have trouble finding this place in the 9,000 odd streets of the Medina.... Loves it all ?

The bed was comfortable and the shower was good and hot. The manager was helpful in arranging a transfer for us from Rabat. Mustafa the doorman was a very kind, gentle and hardworking man. Chaq Chaq was honestly a solid disappointment. We ended up leaving a night early. We booked for New Years on our honeymoon after a fair bit of research into options in Fes. Chaq Chaq’s website and Instagram present it a light that sadly wasn’t borne into reality when we got there. The biggest disappointment was the rooftop. The website etc suggest that it’s set up with lounges as a lovely spot to hang out, with food and drink service available (a real asset in a city as intense as Fes). In reality, the roof was a mess, with only very decrepit cushions. To be honest, we were also a bit surprised by the service in the hotel, especially for what they’re charging. We’ve found most riad managers to be so helpful in orientating you in the city and helping navigate its systems (especially helpful in a city like Fes). As mentioned we found Mustafa to be incredibly lovely, but were surprised that the manager left basically as soon as we arrived and was often absent. Not being French/Arabic speakers it meant there was no one we could communicate with. At points there was no one at the hotel and as guests you can’t let yourself in, so at one point we were waiting outside knocking for ~10 minutes and eventually got in by Whatsapping the manager and waiting for Mustapha to arrive. Chaq Chaq also didn’t align with other hotels we’ve been staying in at similar/lower price points in terms of breakfast ( Chaq’s was microwaved and mainly just breads), cleanliness (a few things like the sinks were a bit manky tbh). We visited in winter but the Riad was physically much colder than any others we’ve stayed in here. Even with the AC going set to 30 our room didn’t really get warm enough to be comfortable outside of being in the shower or under the covers. Overall, it honestly felt like we’d been catfished by the way the hotel presents itself online vs the way it operates in reality (at least for the time we were there).

Nice old building No lounge on the rooftop, as mentioned. We could only get a heater on our last night, was very cold in the room.

Everything was very beautiful, the entrance, the architecture, the 160 yr old room doors... We were amazed! Mustafa and Abdu were delightful and did everything to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. We went in December and the room was a bit cold and the lighting was very low. Great for having a cosy night or a sleep-in but not nice to hang out.

Beautiful place! The employees exceeded our expectations, very helpful, thoughtful and always available. The restaurant isn’t in the riad but the staff offer to accompany you to and from which was very appreciated.

Chad Chad and the house caretaker (Mustapha) were amazing. His breakfast and tea were some of the best. He also cares about is guests and would wait up to ensure we were safe each night. Very comfortable stay.

Deffinitely the best place where you can stay in fes. The stuff is really kind and helpfull, they come to pick up us from parking (you need this help to not lost in fes medina). The breakfast is tasty and the view from terace is stunning. The room is very clean nothing to complain about.

Everything! The interior, the staff, the breakfast and the location. Everything was perfect, I honestly wish we stayed longer, the room was beautiful as was the view from the terrace. The interiors belong in architectural digest. The artistic detail is stunning. The bed was comfortable and the down duvet much appreciated. The shower was super hot. It would have been impossible to get to/from the location without their pickup. There is no restaurant or spa at this location. There is really no reception either. There is always someone around but only 1 that speaks English. As a solo traveler, I did not feel safe walking around alone and there really isn't much around in the vicinity. I was hoping they could help me get to bap guisa but they said they can't go that far. This is a beautiful guesthouse but for solo travelers I would suggest something in a more central location.

We (my husband and his parents) stayed here for a few nights during our stay in Fes last November and we cannot speak highly enough about this place, but mostly about the staff! They are all amazing! Mustafa and Idriss helped us with everything we needed during our stay and arranged some very special and memorable evenings for us on the rooftop terrace (even though they thought it would be too cold, but for us crazy Dutchies nothing is too cold ;) ) They went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast was lovely as well as the tea we drunk with much appreciation every time we got back to the riad. At first it was a bit difficult to navigate through the medina, but Mustafa and/or Idriss were always there to help us or walk along and they were only a text message away if needed! Rooms and the riad itself looks so beautiful and well decorated with attention to detail. We loved the mosaic the lanterns, woodwork and the doors leading to our room with the most comfortable bed. The rooftop terrace is beautiful as well. You would never think that such an amazing riad is behind this small door in this small street and it is the best surprise we've got! Special thanks for helping us finding the beautiful Moroccan tiles that will bring a forever memory to our Spanish house! It will always remind us to our lovely stay with you! Thank you Idriss and Mustafa, we will have ChaqChaq in our hearts and memories thanks to your amazing service! Absolutely no bad comment, but if I have to mention something to improve it would be that the shower glass in our room did not reach the floor and therefor a big part of the bathroom gets wet when you turn the rainshower on. We solved this by using the smaller shower and use less water just to be sure, so it was no issue for us.

It is a beautiful riad in the middle of Fes. Having helpful staff is critical given that getting in and out of the Medina is not simple. The beds were very comfortable and the view from the terrace spectacular.
