This place was a true hidden gem! Although it was a little further away (10 min. walk) from where I stayed last time, it was soooo worth it! The quiet location was ideal after a long/busy/hot day of walking and sightseeing. Our room was spacious and bright with a fantastic, large bathroom. The air conditioning worked perfectly too! The breakfast options were great, but the bonus was the water (sparkling and still), coffee machine and other treats in the "canteen" located on the lobby level which was included in the price of the room! There was also an honor bar if we wanted to purchase anything during our stay. Another surprising feature was the evening happy hour with wine and snacks which guests enjoyed in their outdoor terrace. One night, my sister and I had so many snacks and wine that we were not hungry for dinner! Lastly, the staff was delightful! They were kind and helpful and really made the Hotel David feel like our home away from home. I would go back in a heartbeat! That I had to leave! I think the only negative would be for some people a bit of a walk to city center.

The room was large with a separate living space and an outdoor area with lounge chairs. Bathroom was clean and good water pressure. Breakfast on the 1st floor was ample with plenty of options (fruit, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, sweets, yogurts, "Good" pistachio croissants, etc.). Parking was good for the car but the driver needs to carefully maneuver the car in and out because space is tight. Location is a 20 minute walk to the Uffizi area but it is nice to walk along the Arno. The Happy Hour in the evenings outside was pleasant with wine and snacks. The only thing is the price. It is high but it is Florence in Season. So you pay for what you want. The street which the hotel fronts is noisy but when the windows are closed, the noise is outside and not inside the room.

Truly a treat. Staff members are always ready to help with a smile. We stayed at 5 hotels and/or B&Bs during our 10-day trip across northern Italy. Hotel David was, by far, the best. We chose it for our first and last nights of the trip. Both nights, we were simply tired, and this oasis on the outskirts of Florence was just what we needed. The only trade-off is the distance from downtown Florence. If you're in great shape and don't mind adding 20 or 30 minutes each way, you can walk to the sights. Otherwise, you'll do as most guests do which is a combination of buses (can be crowded and not on schedule) and taxis (expensive). The staff is very helpful with whatever transportation you use. They even sell bus tickets at the front desk and will explain bus stops and routes.

I loved everything about this hotel + cannot wait to come back! Fantastic service, location, offerings, and VERY clean. I sincerely loved this stay + am very much looking forward to visiting again - this is the only place I will stay moving forward when visiting Florence. Literally nothing - I have zero complaints, this place is amazing.
