Hotel Genesi

Communication before arrival, how to locate the hotel, check-in and check out were very clear and easy. The location of the hotel is ideal, close to the train station as well as attractions and restaurants, so taxis weren’t needed. This was the only positives of our stay here. The room was not as advertised in the photos seen online. It was a tight fit for the three of us and the bathroom was not only tiny but not very clean. The cleanliness of the hotels is questionable. We stayed three nights and our room was only “cleaned” once, the second day it was supposed to be cleaned the woman said she would come back and never did. We weren’t given extra toilet paper (we ran out) and the one time our room was “cleaned” all that was really done was our bedsheets were neatly pulled to “make the bed” which I could’ve done myself. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned. We didn’t feel clean in the room especially having to use the same towels 3 nights in a row. There is only one woman working at the front desk who can be found there in the mornings and is absent for the rest of the day and night, so if you need anything there is nobody there to help. Overall, this hotel/stay experience was not worth the price that we paid.

Location The bathroom smelled like someone vomited in there. You can’t see the mess but you can smell it lingering.

Elevator is not for tourists, so you have to climb the stairs. Kitchen area is common, no separate refrigerator

Great location

The host was very communicative ahead of our arrival. They sent descriptive photos and texts of how to get into the building and get our keys. The room itself was cute and clean, and there was a nice looking communal space (we didn’t end up spending any time in it though). Location is also great, not a bad walk from main tourist and sightseeing destinations, and not far from the train station at all. The room itself was very small, as well as the bathroom and especially shower, so the cost was honestly a bit pricey for what it was.

Everything was fine until after the first morning. Our 2nd night when we check each other we realized our problem. The twin beds had bed bugs. We then tried to layer our beds with extra sheets that they had and then we wore full clothing for extra protection. It helped but then to make worse the ac went off. Overall we had 2 bad nights. Those mattresses need to go. I hope no one else sleeps in that room until that problem is fixed

It is in proximity to all historic and famous places. Room was clean, there was a smart tv.

The location was excellent. I liked the neighborhood. Good communication between the staff and I. Good shower with a fan in the bathroom! This is a challenge in a lot of places in Italy but not at Genesi. Great shower!! Daily room cleaning!! Heritage building, had a bit of a smell to it. Very, very basic accommodations.

The host was very accommodating and responds timely to whatsapp messages. They were very helpful to me during my stay. The room is very minimal, but everything we needed was there and it was for a good price.

Check-in instructions clearly defined, so we had no problems, even if we came late at night. The room was clean, but very small, with old limited furniture. In the kitchen there is a kettle and some tea/coffee, and a fridge where you can store your food. No dishes though are provided. There was no reception or staff that I could find during day time, only cleaning staff. The location is nice, 10-15min walk to the main square, and 15 min walk from the train station. Towels, shampoo and bath cream were provided. The room was very small, literally just a bad, a share with tiny table and a small wardrobe. Wi-Fi was slow.
