Hotel Palazzo Vecchio

Staff were very nice and breakfast was great Our air-conditioning unit stopped functioning properly after the first night

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful. One person gave us a map and walked us through our destinations. He also recommended a restaurant in which he called ahead and made reservations for us. The room was great. Had a small balcony and a large tub/shower combination. The breakfast was not included in the price of the room, but it was delicious and had so many choices. It was kind of hard to find. Highly recommend reserving a parking space if you plan to stay.

Close to the train station small room

Pretty much the only thing about this place that’s nice was the staff, they were helpful and polite. The view of the Duomo was good as well, however, we already paid for it with the premium price so it’s not like that was a bonus. The place is pretty bare bones. The combination hair and body wash was quite offensive, as well as the constantly shifting temperature of the water, you had to dodge out of the way when it got scalding hot and shuddered when it became way too cold. The room was filled with mosquitoes which also roamed the entire hotel like it was the wilderness. The breakfast was not even passable, all stale pastries and yogurt machines that don’t work, good for nothing beyond filling your stomach. The bed was extremely uncomfortable as it was just two twin size beds pushed together, with very cheap mattresses. Truly if I could turn back time, I would never book this place. Paying the rate they are asking for with the experience they’re providing is tantamount to getting scammed.

The hotel is located 5 mins away (walking) from Santa Maria Novella station, extremely convenient. Approximately 10 mins away from Duomo Cathedral. There are a variety of restaurants and cafes walkable distance from the hotel. Also local stores for buying water, perosnal supplies, etc. The hotel sign and name is visible at the building, very easy to find. The 24/7 receptionist gave me a map of Firenze and explained alot of the tourism spots. The breakfast is simple with a variety to hold you through the morning. Coffee service is served by the server at the buffet. The room is Big and simple. There isn't much dislikes to this hotel.

It is very close to train station which is perfect for those who go by train, it is also close to major touristic places The room is a little bit old, that may be a problem for some people

Perfect location just across the street from SMN train station. It’s minutes walk to the downtown too. This makes it super easy to hop on the train and bus for the day trips to nearby towns. The hotel provides 24-hour front desk service. The staff greets you in and out which makes you feel warm and welcoming. Buffet breakfast is sufficient. The property is in old conditions in general and can use some renovations.

Location is good distance to public transportation Carrying heavy suitcases up the plight of stairs into the lobby entrance. There are no ramps or lifts.

The only negative aspect was that the room was a bit narrow, and both the pillows and mattress were quite hard.

Only thing went well was the location. Very close to the train station and restaurants. I am not sure how this hotel received such a high rating that seems to be completely made up. This hotel's room had a musty smell, rooms are very old with a high ceiling, the door to the balcony does not close properly, there was no tissue paper holder, there was no shampoo/conditioner in the shower, there were almost no room to keep tooth brash/shaving system in the bathroom..... It is not worth the high price they charge.

Great location particularly if you will be using the train at SMN. Property is beautiful and the room was a nice size with all amenities. So nice to have the daily breakfast. Staff was very accommodating.

The size of the room is just right for 1 person. Really comfertable and just right price for 1 person. Location is really good next to the train staion with 1 min walk. The bathroom does not smell good. May need refresher.
