Porta Faenza Hotel
About Porta Faenza Hotel
Located near to one of the now demolished gates in the wall which once surrounded the city, the hotel was established from the renovated home of a well-known family of Florentine merchants. The terracotta, stonework and the fine collection of old tools on display around the hotel are all authentic features of the original house. These historic aspects, combined with modern comforts aim to offer you a unique stay in the heart of Florence. Located close to the railway station, city center and many of the main attractions, the hotel offers an ideal base for you to explore the sights. The 24-hour reception also ensures a memorable stay as the friendly staff are available for any query you may have. License Number(s): 048017ALB0391

This is the third time I’ve stayed at this property and I plan to continue coming back over the years. It is convenient from the train station w my luggage - and yet a straight walk to every possible location you’d want to see in Florence. Poor lady could use some help w the morning breakfast rush - but we’re patient

Great location and very nice rooms!

NA. We loved everything.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient. Breakfast was good.
-
Easy to get to the train station and tram to the airport!

Totul a fost perfect: curățenie, mâncare, angajați, locație. Angajații ne-au permis să lăsăm bagajele la hotel după checkout până seara. Camera a fost cam mica, dar suficientă pentru 2 persoane.

Lovely staff, nice breakfast, and good location. Big room for 3.

We stayed in a family room which was big and comfortable, with great A/C and a wonderful shower. We’d been traveling around Tuscany and had experienced some pretty small showers where you couldn’t comfortably reach your head to shampoo without twisting and turning, so this HUGE shower was a real treat. The location was super convenient and we loved the easy access to the train station. The front desk was very helpful and friendly and we were very happy with everything about our stay.

The room and the bathroom were very comfortable and clean, they looked like in the photos. The staff was very nice. The hotel is at the limit of the pedestrian area. We took the garage recommended by the hotel, so we could arrive by car until very close to the hotel (which was important in a very hot summer day). We received by email very precise instructions on how to arrive there by car. We had the dog with us, and he was very welcomed. The location is very good (15 min by foot to Uffizi). Breakfast was very good. There were home made cookies and special Italian coffees, among other things. I think the price was a bit high, although I guess this is the price level for Florence.

Comfortable stay, great location

Good location, short distance from the train station. There’re lots of restaurants, shops nearby. You’ll have full breakfast in the morning. Sometimes it’s noisy due to the bar restaurant across the street from hotel.

Exactly as shown in the photos. Good sized quad room and bathroom. Clean and well styled. Small refrigerator in the room. Double sinks in the bathroom. Breakfast spread was good. Walkable from train station, and many restaurants on the street. Easy walk to Duomo. Staff was kind and called a taxi for us a couple of times on a short notice.

The shower was weird - no matter what we did the whole bathroom floor was flooded. Not a dealbreaker, but just annoying .

Wonderful location with kind staff and super clean rooms. The breakfast was so awesome! We loved it and also loved how the hotel showcased the antiques they had. The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom was super large! Wow! It was quiet and close to everything! We came from the train station which was right down the block but you would never know. The street and neighborhood was so fun and literally steps from Mercato Centrale. Nothing.

Everything. The facilities, staff, location, breakfast with vegan food and the price is in line with what the hotel offers to us Everything was good

The hotel was very clean, it has a good location and the personnel was very nice.
-
Location location location! Close enough to the train station that it made very convenient to walk with bags to the hotel. but not too close that it felt like you were staying right next to a train station. In fact, you felt very much like you were in the middle and immersed in the city. Breakfast could have a few more options

First room was old and outdated and hot. Air did not work. We switched rooms and it was good. Not great but good. Breakfast fair to good. This is an over rated property for the price. Most front desk workers not very friendly. Air cond not that cold but it is Europe.

It’s cute, breakfast is the best I have ever had in Italy, it has eggs and bacon! Walking distance to sites, restaurants and Duomo Bed is too firm for my liking, aircon is limited to 22 degrees, but I live in Chicago, so I want it colder

Everything was great.
