The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and in a great location for a first visit to Florence. I would not describe it as a true 4-star luxury property in terms of overall feel or service, but it is pleasant enough for a short stay. The serious issue happened late at night during the stay. We came back to the hotel around 1am after being out at a celebration and was locked outside because there was no one at reception and no one responding despite repeated ringing and calls to the number provided. My mother was left waiting outside for around 20 minutes, and another guest was also locked out and had already been waiting for some time, so this was clearly not an isolated issue. I booked this hotel for my mother with the confidence that a property advertising 24-hour reception would never leave her locked outside late at night with no assistance, especially in an area that feels uncomfortable for tourists after dark. A hotel offering 24-hour reception should have a reliable process in place to ensure guests can always access the property safely, even if a staff member steps away from the desk. What made the situation even more disappointing was how it was handled afterwards. We spent nearly two hours trying to resolve the issue in a calm and reasonable way, but there was no apology, no accountability, and no gesture of compensation despite the hotel reviewing the cameras and being fully aware of what had happened. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but what matters is how a hotel responds when guest safety and peace of mind have clearly been compromised. Unfortunately, in this case, it felt as though they simply did not care about the experience or the safety concerns raised.

The people were kind and helpful.

Location and staff Bed uncomfortable. Curtains didn’t cover the window. Shower head was installed at a weird angle. Had to call reception for AC use.

Centrally located. Good breakfast.

The location is good for exploring the back streets of Florence. Paid parking is right next door to the hotel and provides for a discount. The room was of a good size and staff was pleasant. The hotel is a historic castle thus one can understand the limitations on remodeling, but the room could use some upgrades. The breakfast has a good spread but the eggs and bacon were cold.

Old furniture and the overall interior design

Great location, city center. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was fantastic with the morning staff being so friendly, The city center included many noises that kept us awake but we were happy to be near the sites.

Comfortable bed. A little bit run down in need of basic maintenance.
-
Really good central location Looks a bit dated
-
The a/c only reached 22.5 degrees Celsius. They have a couple rude employees and they did nothing to accommodate the a/c problem. And the shower door which made it even tinier than it already was.

The property was clean. It was very old and the room was dated. Also the bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the shower only had a hand held sprayer.

Location and facilities Rome and entrance

Good locations About everything. Staff is completely incompetent and unhelpful. Zero services at the property, not even was ice available. Traveling with a diabetic person to this hotel can be rather unpleasant and dangerous to an extent. In The room gave me the AC was not working, and it took about 1 hour to change it as no one was available in the hotel to check the issue. Eventually they change the room. They have no parking if you arrive after 11pm even though they claim they do. The hotel is badly maintained and dirty. Really, I dint know how can they claim is a 4 stars hotel.. it’s a degrade for a city like Florence.

The location was perfect and the staff was extremely helpful.

Excellent location to explore the city, and down a back street so is away from the crowds. Easy to get to and great for the train/tram and bus links. Breakfast was ok. The scrambled eggs and bacon could have been better, but there were several alternatives for breakfast.
