Hotel Grifone

Very nice, modern and comfortable hotel. We were so happy with the value and comfort of this place. The location is a little out of the way, however the neighbourhood is quiet which is nice after a long day in the city.

Location and staff, especially Lorenzo who was so helpful and sweet. Taking photos of us , finding chargers, booking restaurants. . He is a big asset to the hotel . All good.

Location, also I just didn’t feel very safe in the hotel at night being a solo female traveler

The hotel seemed a bit fancier than I realized, as we were simply looking for a place in that immediate area and did not look into the amenities. Parking is available on site with reservation (I believe for €25/day), although we parked in the garage down the street at piazza Alberti (€15/day). There is a nice little jazz bar just next door that offers a discount to guests. We had a nice little breakfast with them. Access to the center was convenient on bus 14, which runs on a street just about one block south. You can pay on the bus with a card, or tickets can be arranged at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was pretty expensive for what I knew we would eat, hence breakfast at the jazz bar.

Beautiful hotel/Spa.

The staff were very helpful to all our needs. Gloria at the front desk helped us with everything we needed. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Even though it was away from the tourist attractions, the bus 14 was very convenient getting to and fro .The breakfast was also very good. Nothing.

I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Grifone. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall hotel environment was well maintained. The location is convenient and makes it easy to move around Florence. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to assist, which made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

The location is far from the city center, and the facilities were disappointing, no soap in the shower, a non-working air conditioner, and a faulty toilet flush. When we mentioned this at checkout, the staff didn’t take responsibility or even offer a basic apology.

Very essy to get to. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Breakfast was well managed.

Great space in room Location but that can’t be changed

Good location with a bistro/jazz place next door that we really liked, and a wee cafe round the corner which was great for picking up breakfast. It is also at the bus stop for the 14 bus that we used to go everywhere. The coffee and juice bar downstairs is a nice touch. There is a coin laundry nearby which we made use of. We went in the spa one day and enjoyed having a pool. A shower is always important for me and our room has one of those showers that has a razor thin line between scalding and freezing. Very frustrating. Also, the spa price of 20 euros for 2 hours is excessive.

A special mention goes to the gentleman from the staff, around 40–45 years old - very kind. Parking at €25/day at that distance from the center is, in my opinion, too expensive, but at least we were allowed to leave the car several hours before check-in and a few hours after check-out. Unclear communication regarding parking. The Booking listing mentions private parking, but in the message before arrival, I was informed that parking is only for small and medium-sized cars. I tried to clarify this (as I was arriving with a station wagon) via WhatsApp - they asked for the date and then ignored my messages. Fortunately, there was no issue with parking in the end.
