Kawaguchiko Hotel

I knew when we booked that others had said it was in need of updates. Definitely could use some fresh carpet and paint at the very least. The game room was nice but there was trash on the floor and it looked like it had not been cleaned thoroughly.

Brilliant location! Right by the lake. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Helped us take the luggage to the room and to the shuttle on day of check out. Little flys in room - granted it’s right by the lake so this is understandable. Bathroom had a funky smell - may have been from the shower curtain? This was stained and had brown marks on.

Great location, very organized facility. I booked a mountain view room, but it was on a 1st floor, not much view of the mountain, only next door neighbours.

A presant surprise is the traditional Japanese breakfast and serving. You should definitely include the breakfast if you book this hotel. The one inconvenience is the lack of good restaurant choices in the neighberhood. The hotel itself does not provide lunch or dinner.

It is close by to the Kawaguchiko lake and shopping A lot of things. They advertised that they offer a ride from Kawaguchiko station to the hotel but when we called after reaching the station they told us that they cannot pick us up. After check in we found out that the AC in our room was not working and when reported, the staff were walking in and out of the room for an hour at 11 pm. It was so exhausting that the AC didn’t work and it was so uncomfortable to sleep through the night.

Japanese-style accommodation, shabu-shabu breakfast was a great experience, great facilities, and quite location, not too far from the centre. Staff, especially in the evening, spoke almost no English potentially causing issues.

Great location with beautiful view of the lake. Old style room and hotel was cool, if a bit outdated. The public bath was clean, modern, and overlooked Mt. Fuji, which was amazing. Breakfast was so delicious! There was a big brown splatter stain in our room which was strange. Felt like things should be cleaner or more recently updated considering how expensive of a stay it was.

Our stay at Kawaguchiko Hotel was our favorite thing about our trip to Japan. The location was excellent and we were able to use the shuttle from Kawaguchiko Station both to and from the hotel. The staff always friendly and the room was huge and very clean with modern restroom features. The onsen was perfect but above all the breakfast was remarkable. It was our favorite meal in Japan. We were lucky to be able to stay two night and both breakfasts were large and delicious. We would absolutely recommend staying here and plan to come back as soon as we can! The pictures didn’t quite match the current operations of the hotel (there was no dinner when we were there) but that was not a deal breaker for us.
