Fuji Lake Hotel

They gave us a ADA room with beds that looked like hospital beds. We never booked an ADA room and when we told them and asked for another room they told us that the hotel was sold out and that they could not do anything about it. What was supposed to be the highlight of our trip turned out to be a nightmare!

Hotel was very responsive via Booking.com messaging. Their shuttle service to the station is very convenient. Our room had a wonderful view and was very spacious. We had an awesome time there!

We had a wonderful stay at Fuji Lake Hotel. The hotel has so much charm and character, making it feel warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The location is fantastic, right next to Lake Kawaguchi, with beautiful views of the lake. There are convenient bike rental shops nearby, making it easy to explore the lakeside at your own pace. We also really appreciated the complimentary pick-up service from the train station, which made our arrival completely hassle-free. A truly memorable stay, and we would happily return on our next visit to the area.

Breakfast and dinner buffets were very good. Consider variations to the menu for folks that stay there for more than 1 meal each. The hotel staff was extremely pleasant. The snack/drink area was a nice surprise and provided convenience. We selected the foam pillow option which we do not normally see as an option. Pillows we got were comfortable. Location of the hotel by the lake was extremely beautiful. Appears that the hotel upgraded the front entrance. The rooms though need major TLC and modernization. Faucet leaks in the room, bathrooms are extremely small. Toilet rooms need deep cleaning to rid of the years of use and smell. I respect the culture of taking your shoes off to come into the room but it is a bit hard to get over the fact that the carpets looked like they need a good cleaning if you expect guests to take off their shoes at the door. Also hard to expect hotel guests to put on the hotel toilet slippers to use the bathroom in their own room when the toilet room smells. Are the hotel toilet slippers re-used with each guest? I could not get over the fact that upon check in, we were handed our bath towels from the general service area. I assume this is done because there was no space in the rooms for towels? There was a portable clothes wire rack in the room that we used to hang the towels but it was big/flimsy and just got in the way. There was no place for our luggage. There were 4 closets in the room but 2 of them were filled with bedding supplies. And the remaining 2 were so small and cluttered. There were at least 8 pair of slippers in them so we could use to go out on the balcony. I think the small balcony could only fit 2 people out there. We stayed in the tatami room that can sleep 2-6, East Wing with views of Lake Kawaguchiko. We had 3 people. We ended up using the tatami room floor for our luggage. Overall I was disappointed because the state of the room was not what was pictured from the hotel. There are not many options of places to stay on the lake so if you do end up staying here, I would suggest choosing the renovated rooms at least to decrease your chances of leaky and smelly bathrooms.

Wonderful staff, beautiful facility, and delicious buffet breakfast and dinner. I was impressed and delighted by everything they offered! I had the lake view, and I'm glad I chose that side. Nothing.
