Super cute Japanese style guesthouse. Great value for our own room. Super clean, quiet, with great, comfy amenities. The hotel put a lot of effort into making guests feel comfortable and providing authentic Japanese experiences to learn from, like origami and calligraphy. Would totally stay here again. Because we were hiking Mt. Fuji, we forwarded our bags and actually called ahead to this guesthouse to confirm that they would be able to receive our bags. They said yes, someone would be there to receive our bags. When we arrived to the guesthouse (dirty, no clothes, tired), the delivery slip said there was no staff to receive the bags because they go on planned break from 10-2. So we had to wait at the hostel for 4 hours for the bags to be redelivered. It’s not the end of the world, but the guesthouse officially said there would be staff to receive our bags, and yet they didn’t. Also the room had a strange smell.

I liked that this property is preserving traditional ways I liked the entire experience - Google Maps just had the location wrong so some kind folks directed us to the house

Location and view to Fuji is Amaizing

Perfect location close to the train/bus station. Clean, quiet and has a fully equipped shared kitchen. Coffee station & basic breakfast (bead, jam, butter) to start in the morning. What we enjoyed the most was the room where you can do origami & calligraphy. Totally normal for a ryokan style accommodation but shared areas are a bit cold and futons are a little hard.

It is near to the station and Kawaguchi lake None

I love how cozy it is and the room gives you a Japanese feel with how the interiors are designed. I also love that they have complimentary coffee abd tea. The staff was amazing!!! Very friendly and approachable. Also, it was raining during my last day, but luckily, the guesthouse had free calligraphy, origami and kimono-fitting. I wasn't bored at all and got to try something new. Maybe the shower wall had black marking but that was super minimal. Also, one of the showers took a bit of time to adjust to hot water. But again, super minimal.

The location is quite near to the Kawaguchiko Station, a cute little traditional Japanese house.

I had a private room in Japanese style tatami with a futon. Facilities were clean and it felt like staying in a traditional Japanese home. Futon was hard and a little uncomfortable. Sound travels easily if someone is walking to the toilet.

they prepare bread for breakfast. definitely miss drinking water from tap, refreshing since it is from Mount Fuji

Location was walking distance to bus station A bit run down and most everything was old. It’s a value establishment so it was expected.

Feels like home and they offer breakfast

What a nice guesthouse to stay and enjoy a tradition Japanese stay! The room is nice, with AC. The futon is actually quite comfortable. As a traditional guesthouse, bathroom and washroom are not inside the room. They are shared with other guests but that’s fine. The guesthouse has a kitchen guests can use, with dining ware, microwave and oven. They even have an experience room you can enjoy Japanese traditions like origami, practice some calligraphy and try on yukatas. The continental breakfast was simple, but enjoyable. There’s coffee, tea, some bread with margarine and jam. The staff is absolutely lovely. So helpful and friendly! No issues.

The showers were rather on the lower level, but there's not much you can do if the guests don't follow the rules. I would have liked to have had a hook to hang my clothes on or a chair to put my things on. As it was, I had to leave everything on the floor. Breakfast was simple, consisted of slices of bread and jam with tea or coffee. The neighboring rooms were quite noisy late into the night, and there is no sound isolation.
