Parking needs space so not to park on main drag but did make entering the hotel easy. Very nice pleasant experience! Great view of the Gulf!

    Loved! Will be back soon

The place needs a coat of paint and sprucing up. Furniture in the public areas is worn and couch cushions in the rooftop bar area were torn with the inserts showing. There were no waitstaff or bartenders for the rooftop bar so customers had to go up & downstairs to serve themselves. The handle for the shower in our room was not assembled and required us to attach it before use. There was mold on the time behind the shampoo & bodywash dispensers. A trash can near the pool was spotted with rust stains and the water dispensers were mainly depleted with no ice. Things were just not in line with what was advertised on the hotel website and well below expectations.

Everything was great while I stayed for 3 nights. I took my dog and they were very accommodating. Of course there is a daily pet fee but it’s not through the roof. I can’t wait to come back for another staycation.

This hotel is nice. I loved that it was walking distance from beach just walk across the street and your there. The pool at the hotel was nice and the atmosphere was great as well. It was also a plus that they had restaurant you can walk to.

We always come for the great music. I love the amazing environment and atmosphere. It is so chic and puts you back in a different time. You do not feel like you are in Houston at all. It’s such a great boutique property and now they offer the beach chairs definitely come check it out and stay for the music.

We were robbed at Hotel Lucine in Galveston on July 10, 2026, when someone walked into room 120 while we slept and stole a watch, credit cards, and vacation cash straight from our nightstand. The room's door did not latch effectively, and because we were deeply fatigued, we did not hear the intruder enter. This corner of the property has major security flaws; anyone can come and go through the unmonitored back alley and street exit doors, and the security cameras either missed the area entirely or failed to trigger. This was an incredibly traumatizing experience and who knows what would have happened if we had awakened and challenged the robber, yet management showed zero accountability. To date they have not offered to comp any portion of our stay nor offered to help us file a hotel insurance claim. While the Galveston Police Department is still actively investigating our case, the hotel’s complete lack of care and poor security infrastructure make it an unsafe place to stay. It’s unfortunate as it is a nice place and now we can never stay there again.

Loved the hotel, staff, and location.

We reserved 4 rooms. Two of the four rooms were super hot and had to be changed out. They still did not get very cool.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Hotel was having ac problems. Some of our rooms wouldn’t cool properly. No discount offered only a free drink at bar. Parking is horrible. Rooms are very small. But clean.

We checked in on a Thursday evening around 5:30pm didn’t know the hotel does not have an elevator! Due to medical conditions I have a hard time going up and down stairs. The hotel is only 2 floors and of course our room was on the second floor. The room itself was nice but you could tell it was an older renovated hotel. When we entered our room we noticed that is was WARM so we figured the AC hadn’t been turned on so my husband put the thermostat on 55 trying to get it cooled off. It took most of the night to get it cool enough to sleep comfortably. When we left for our day’s adventures the room temperature was comfortable. When we returned that afternoon the room was HOT again! My husband went to the front desk to see if we could get someone to check it out and was told the air conditioner was out on the whole 2nd floor but they were working on it. We sat in the lobby while they worked on it and were given a round of drinks on the house at the bar. We were told it was fixed in about an hour so we went back to our rooms to go to bed. The air went off again around 11pm and stayed off. We left a day early because the management at the hotel didn’t know when or if the air conditioner would be working!!! Will not be returning to Hotel Lucine!

Hotel has potential, they are unfortunately a victim of being short staffed. Roof top bar and beach chairs are weekends only, which is not advertised.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Stay not worth price with no pool. Staff friendly.

First time at Lucine and overall my experience was great my only negative was the parking after around 8 it was tuff finding parking but the front desk helped me promptly

Now for the not so great becauseI wish i had seen a review with more transparency before I booked.. it's an incredibly small property. Which is fine and more intimate but it was so small we couldn't go to the rooftoo bar on the roof and we tried to go very early because it was so full we could barely step foot on the roof. The restaurant is extremely limited seating because it is very very small. The brunch was great we really enjoyed our food but just be aware of the size, maybe make a reservation. The parking is almost non existent. We felt like we couldn't move our vehicle the first afternoon and evening because we were concerned there would be no parking because we got the last spot. The hostess was rude and abrupt both interactions we had and there was a worker (not sure if his position) who was extremely rude. Like unimaginable to me that someone would literally just ignore you multiple times while trying to ask a question and no he was not busy or waiting on other guests. All in all, it was pleasant but I wouldn't book here again. I'd save the extra money and stay somewhere else and go for brunch only maybe.

Nice Restaurant (The Fancy) inside hotel. Plus rooftop area was great! Right across from the beach. Complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas for hotel guests
