Clean but not maintained. Staff is awesome!

Beach view, Clean room and Staff were very nice. Breakfasts was okay. However the staff in the dining room were excellent.

The elevators were also a major issue. They were not working more than half of the time, which was extremely inconvenient, especially when trying to get around the hotel. We also ate at the bar, and unfortunately, the food wasn’t very good. The pool area could use more maintenance and cleaning as well, as it didn’t feel as clean as it should have. The beautiful views were definitely the highlight of the hotel, but overall, there are several areas that need improvement, especially cleanliness, maintenance, and the condition of the facilities.

The room was clean and the staff was great, but there was only one small elevator working, the phone in the room didn't work, the plug on the hair dryer was broken, there was no conditioner in the shower and there was no curtain over the huge window, so we were woken up to bright sunlight early and that's the last thing you want after being out late the night before!

Unfriendly staff at front desk, checked us into a dirty room where the Bed has been slept on ,yes he was not Happy he had to send us to a different room & it was on 5 floor we had to use the service Elevator because the Guest Elevator was out of Service.

The staff was terrible. There was an issue with every I came in contact with. From check in trying to get me to pay more and couldn’t explain it. To check out trying to put charges that wasn’t for my room.

The view and the pool were great!! We were given keys to rm 321. When we got there the sheets were off the bed and it wasn't ready. We met the janitorial staff in the hallway and they promptly gave us rm 320 which was awesome. The view was great! I didn't like $22 for breakfast. We, instead, walked to Miller's and ate cheaper with a window view of the ocean.

Exceptional

We stay in Double Tree hotels often and booked the Galveston stay in hopes that the same standards would be upheld. Check in with the front desk was excellent, however the room looked like it could really use an update. Not sure what happened in our bathroom but there were small hairs everywhere on the vanity and sink like maybe someone trimmed their beard?? I’m not one to complain too much since it did look like the rest of the bathroom was decent, I just took a wet wipe and cleaned off the sink myself. Our room door had a large gap towards the bottom where you could actually see the hallway a little bit. Thank goodness our floor was quiet or else I could foresee that being a problem. I love Double Tree hotels but I don’t think I’d stay in this location again.

Pool and pool bar were amazing Elevator not working properly, had to use stairs most of the time

Location Reception run down chairs very dirty, hall and lifts floor were dirty and when we got to room it was very run down and dirty had booked for 3 nights stayed 2 as our transport couldn’t pick us up till then. Pool area no towels pool area and pool dirty.

Location. That’s it. It only took us three times asking to get towels. The pool was disgusting, spoons and everything else in the bottom of it. Our room was atrocious, poop or something on our shower curtain. Toilet was disgusting, and had someone else else’s urine on it when we got there. Door handles disgusting. Floors gross. Never again.
