It was wonderful to sleep in an original Ghent structure. Very well preserved, maintained, and kept. The breakfast room is incredible.

The downstairs is beautiful. Lovely dining room and nice breakfast. The room was pretty basic considering the nature of the downstairs. Some upgrades are needed for the bedroom decor and fixtures.

I liked the medieval decoration it was very cozy. There was a lot of mosquitos in my room and I woke up with lots of bug bites.

The heat....but this was not the fault of the Hotel ?

The beautiful building and people were nice and helpful:)

Loved this older building, so quiet and yet close to Gent city center. Nice breakfast included.

I wish the bathroom had a shower. Only thing I didn't like.

This hotel is within an authentic, historic building and it has a time capsule feel. Excellent hospitality. If you are looking for a special experience, stay in the attic room!

Everything was perfect for me. The only thing you should take into consideration is that there’s no elevator, but it was not a problem for me.

Fine old historic and friendly hotel in a quiet neighborhood close to the city center. Our magnificent room looked exactly like a Vermeer setting, lovingly furnished. A step back in time.

Breakfast was delicious, and the decor of the hotel is really impressive. A mix of medieval architecture and second-hand but original furnishings. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, but on a quiet street. the plumbing is also medieval, although there was plenty of hot water, which was nice. The cleanliness was acceptable, but not great. The carpets were worn, there was mold in the bathrooms.

The hotel had a great authentic atmosphere and the owners were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was very good and overall it was a great value place to stay.

A historical building from 1500s made as a hotel. The best way to explore how people of Ghent lived long time ago. A beautiful lunchroom and very unusual (in a good sense) rooms. A grocery store next door. Exceptional hosts. Fast response to all requests we had. Easily accessible by all means of transport. Very steep stairs (no elevator). No modern facilities/furniture, which is OK if you expect a historical setting of the hotel.

all was minimalistic and old. Overated expensive. very friendly owner

Nothing. We refused to stay here. The photos posted on Booking.com are EXTREMELY Deceptive!!! I went into three rooms, and ALL of them were equally disgusting. Beat up furniture, no shower curtain in any bathroom, and only mold on the tiles, and a hose hanging. No pictures on the walls, only old paint and ripped screens on the window. All three rooms were extremely small. Not at all like the photos on Booking.com. We did not stay, but found another hotel that day. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! See attached photos.

attentive staff, nice property with spacious room and old world feel, sufficient breakfast room needed better cleaning to remove cobwebs and dust, window screen had holes allowing mosquitos to enter

We loved the location, the charm, and the very friendly staff. The breakfast was also delicious. We would have preferred the rooms to not have carpets as they were a little dirty. The bathroom floor also could have been a bit cleaner.
