Loved that is was very close to the Jardin de Union which is where everybody goes in the evenning but it was also very close to the the mercado Hidalgo which is a part that you can see a more day to day movement not just for tourist.

Lots of stairs inside the hotel after walking up a steep street to get there.

  • Engine customer Feb 2026

But they should mention that the pool has an extra charge to use it.

The place is pretty nice. Its location is amazing, just a block away from the cathedral. The rooms are comfy and the breakfast included is very good. It's very clean . The staff is always available, but they always act like they didn't want you there. They charge extra for the pool and the price is not that appealing, they even charge you extra for milk for your coffee, I didn't get it, how much money would it cost to give you milk for your coffee, that not only sounds cheap it sounds dumb. It may have been a misunderstanding, but on our first day, there wasn't hot water in the shower, but the rest of our stay, the water was great.

I liked that the hotel was not too far from the plaza or several attractions in Guanajuato. I liked that the hotel staff asked other guests to make sure they kept quiet in case they came in during the late hours of the night. I liked that the staff was friendly and answered all questions or concerns I had. I especially liked how the hotel cleaning staff left my room clean and organized whenever I asked the reception desk if someone could clean my room. My favorite thing from the hotel was the outstanding treatment I received from the massage therapist as well as the steam bath and relaxation pool. I have a few negative things to say about the Hotel Spa Casa del Sol. I had an excellent experience in this hotel; my only small complaint is about the breakfast. Do not get me wrong, the food was delicious, but I wish there were an extra option to the free breakfast included. The only options were eggs done to your liking or chilaquiles. Again, nothing wrong with those foods, but perhaps pancakes or oatmeal with toast could be another option.

Excelente location, a bit private and comfortable. No easy spot for parking. (But that is common at Gto.)

location room, very small, darkness, no windows, difficult to arrive to the front desk with your luggage

Very unique and interesting set up. pleasant and accommodating staff. Big room. Nice little café. Great views. Bed way too hard. Needed pillow top or something. Too many flights of stairs for old me but nice being near rooftop pool. I was told I could swim in pool one day for no charge then the next day I was Charged 12.00.

It is bit of a maze to maneuver inside, to get to your room. It adds to its charm, BUT not good for people with mobility issues. Parking is a headache. Driving in old town Guanajuato is a HUGE headache.

Only the location This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I believe this property is deceiving customers through false advertising on your platform. Here are the issues I encountered during my stay: The facilities did not match the pictures shown on the Booking.com listing. The property appears well-maintained online, but in reality, it was quite run-down. The room was extremely small, with worn-out furniture and an overall neglected appearance. The bathroom had visible mold, making it both unsanitary and unsafe. The listing advertises a pool and jacuzzi, but guests are not allowed to use them freely, even though they are prominently featured. The pool area was locked and inaccessible, and the jacuzzi was also off-limits unless guests paid an additional $250 MXN for just 2 hours of use. Nowhere in the listing does it mention that these amenities require an extra fee or are restricted. This is blatant false advertising and misleads customers into believing they are included in the booking price. I chose this property based on the photos and descriptions provided on your platform, and I feel completely misled.

Location. This property isn’t managed like a hotel, it has potential to be great but isn’t even good. TV”s don’t work, they place one face towel for two people, the bath towels can’t be smaller, some days breakfast runs more than 30 min late, the swimming pool had to much chlorine in it, they charge per person to go to the swimming pool what doesn’t make sense at all. It’s the second time and probably the last because we never had a stay without problems.

Good location. Nice people. Beautiful hotel. Unfortunately the hotel was undergoing major renovations, cellar to roof. From 9 in the morning the sound of pounding was deafening. The person in charge managed to transfer us to another room where the sound was much less. It was not as beautiful or convenient, but in return we had our own private terrace, so we stayed.

The staff was fabulous, and the lady who did the cleaning was always cheerful and did an amazing job keeping the hotel spotless. The room was spacious, and the shower was blissful (excellent water flow and an abundance of steady hot water). The location was great (the hotel is located up a bit of an incline). Close to the action, but quiet. There is a $7.50 US per person charge for the pool for 2.5 hours (that should have been mentioned right up front - just like other charges were. I hate false advertising). We were there for 12 nights, and at first, they had us in a closet. After 3 nights, they moved us into the spacious room pictured in our reservation reply. In the spacious room, the headboard was made out of large river stones. It took a rolled up quilt and two pillows to get comfortable. There's nowhere else to sit and read or watch TV, so it was very tough on our backs. The mattress was very comfortable. Last but not least, between 630 - 7a most mornings, someone (I couldn't tell if it was from the cafe or the spa) played music quite loudly. It woke me most mornings. All in all, it was a mixed bag. Fortunately, all of the issues can be easily remedied by hotel management.
