    Attitude and friendliness of owner

The evening menu was disappointing for its lack of variety. I love a beef stew but not in summer.

All the staff were friendly and informative with regards to bus services and places of interest. Breakfast & main meals were of a very good standard and fair on price. Bed was very comfy, room nice and clean. Although the room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom door was very hard to close due to the door catching on the carpet, taps were loose and installed the wrong way round (host is aware) could do with a new pull switch as no toggle to hold onto, just plain nylon string, host is upgrading this room in the near future, also could do with a fan to use in the bedroom, but on the whole we felt the room was good value for money.

    Wonderful pub with great food.

Bedroom facilities very good ,spacious and well furnished. (Two chairs would have been handy) Kitchen closed early (4.30 sunday) no dinner available. We were offered a warmed up roast on arrival. Breakfast advertised, but told on arrival there was no chef on mondays. Offered croisant in a bag!

Room was super comfy. Shower was hot, bed was soft. Staff was excellent. 1. The coffee and biscuits were enough for 1 day. I am American (who drinks big mugs of coffee) and was staying for 3 days and it wasn't replenished so I bought instant coffee and milk at the supermarket for my stay. 2. Main inconvenience was, if you left your room between 10pm and 8.15ish am, the door to the pub was locked, so you had to exit thru the fire exit and if the door closed, there was no way to reenter the building. You were locked out of the bldg and your room. Perhaps a future solution will resolve this issue. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had a very nice and cozy stay at this charming, traditional inn. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, the beds were very comfortable, and the spacious, modern bathroom was a great bonus. At the time of our stay, the building was under renovation with scaffolding all around. The shower water pressure was also somewhat weak.

Close to town center. Difficult to get to with on-street carparking. I found the room quite dusty, and the bathroom wasn't great - Dusty with exposed pipework, and the water system was extremely loud. The road outside was also much noisier than expected given the location. I went downstairs at around 10:30-10:45pm and found that all of the lights were off and no one to be found, so not sure what the policy is in case of emergencies. No breakfast available.

Could have been cleaner and the bed looked untidy.

Spacious room with 2 chairs, hooks on the back of the door The pub shut at 10.00pm and wd were entirely alone until we left at 08.00 the next morning. We had to leave via the fire escape as the pub was locked!!!

    Very good

  • Engine customer Sep 2024

Good size rooms, drawer space excellent, and bed. Quiet location. Great TV 's. Green fire alarm light shining in our eyes during the night, extremely bright! Toilet seat loose and finish on it peeling. Window frames dirty. No soap on wash basin in ensuite. Blind damaged in ensuite and lighting cord broken, no acorn. Carpet in the stairs area very dirty. Generally, it's a good clean and some tlc needed.

No where ro hag clothes. Stayed 4 nights, room not cleaned, towels not changed, waste bin not emptied. Internal fire door locked. Staff not very friendly.

The only thing I liked room was clean. The staff weren't helpful had a few sentences about were room was and breakfast times when stated we wouldn't be there for breakfast as leaving at 5am got told to be quiet and use first escape as there is no staff on site once pub shuts so if you need anything during the night your left to fend for yourself. Thought as we weren't there for breakfast they may of offered a slight refund or maybe a evening meal in exchange but nothing we went into Penzance for a meal because we didn't get told the pub does food only found out when got back. There was no hot water in the shower there were two extension leads as power supply had to put kettle on floor to connect to power supply. It was clean but even had to ask for cups to make coffee in very poor housekeeping definitely not worth the £133 for the one night with no breakfast.

Enjoyed our time in the bar. Chatting to local people from the village. Also a couple who had come from The Netherlands. The bathroom was very nice.

Stayed in the twin room with my daughter as we were down for a tennis tournament. In arrival the staff were a little under trained sadly (which could be improved) but were satisfied with the B&B. In fact its a lovely place! The room was extremely well kept and lovely. The breakfast was superb! The only negative is the water pressure from the shower. It really needs vast improvement and is the only thing, along with the staff who lacked personality and warmth, that stopped me from giving this lovely B&B a 10 out of 10.
