free drink( water, juice, coffee] provided at the lobby of the Hotel. climb the slope to the Hotel is a bit hard to senior. If there is shuttle bus from Hotel to Train Station, it will be perfect. Since there will be no taxi at the taxi station.

The location and the amazing staff! Outdated, dingy wallpaper (torn in places)carpets and chipped paintwork in shared areas. Toilets near dining room are in a very poor state of repair. Decor in the bedroom/s was rather institutional looking. The bathroom/s were old-fashioned and very basic. The shower didn’t work. We were moved to a room in a sister hotel as a consequence. However, the second hotel had annoying piped music playing in the rooms below us. The traffic from the seafront was also noisy and so it was difficult to get to sleep until very late when the traffic had died down.

The meals were excellent flavourful . So after 4 nights of trying all the dishes on the menu I asked to personally thank the chef Uthpala from Srilanka. View in my bedroom was amazing . Night desk staff member was it Rob was very kind and friendly and helped plan my itinerary of places to visit . The pool was under shady trees so leaves were constantly falling in

We like the view from our room and open outdoor spaces facing the harbour. The hotel sits on a higher portion of the mountain side so you can see clearly the harbour. Easily the worst dining experience of our trip. We were the first customers of the evening and placed our confirmed order at 7:00 PM. By 8:30 PM, every table that arrived long after us was eating, yet we had no food. When we asked for an update, we were told a "system glitch" dropped our order and were asked if we still wanted it. Since all local shops in town close by 6:00 PM, we had no other choice. Our food finally arrived at 9:00 PM, met only with superficial apologies and zero genuine remorse. What makes this worse is the complete lack of management care. The hotel manager personally helped us with menu recommendations at 7:00 PM, yet never checked on our missing order. During her 9:30 PM table visits, she noticeably bypassed us to avoid the issue until we directly called her over. This wasn't an isolated incident. Having stayed here for 5 days, we observed agonizingly slow service daily—including another table waiting 45 minutes just for a beer. The core issue isn't about getting a discount on the bill; it's the severe understaffing and total lack of accountability. A truly horrible experience.

The staff were very helpful and tried their best to make us feel welcome The carpets looked filthy and our room had a bad smell as though the smell of smoke had been covered with a chemical spray. The night manager said it was air-freshner but we went in another room and it didn't smell. The communal areas downstairs were cleaner but everything looked tired. Considering the amount we had spent it was very disappointing.

Penzance is a great location to travel from within Cornwall. Our room had no air conditioning. The hotel has last been refurbished in the 2000's. There were bad smells in the corridors as if the carpets needed washing. Our room were cleaned poorly i.e. glasses were never washed out properly. In all, this is not an hotel that I would suggest to family and friends.
