Dirty. Outdated. Loud party vibrating the bedroom.

Short notice booking, we didn’t have too much option Very run down, wallpaper and wood peeling, signs of mould on walls. Carpet heavily stained and looked loose in some places. Tiles in bathroom cracked. No toilet roll holder. Lock on the door loose (I think it was safe) Window didn’t open far, probably safety but was very hot. We were in farthest room away up 3 flights of stairs with heavy suitcases and no offer of any help. Breakfast plentiful but not great quality

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Staff were friendly but on minimum wage despite the high price of the rooms. Poor decor, high price and breakfast was burnt and inedible. Tired and tatty

Historic building in the heart of Penzance. Nice bar and breakfast. Very good value for money. Lovely view of harbour. Car park is small and resident parking not guaranteed.

Location is excellent. Old Hotel and needs completely renovating. My bedroom had no towel rail, no wardrobe and I had to hang my clothes on the curtain rail. Bed very uncomfortable. Poor pillows.

    Pleasant

The Toilet seat was not secured properly, there was no towel rail in the en suite, there was no chair the the bedroom until I asked for one, the parking area was difficult to access and egress. Breakfast was by selection the night before and was good and filling.

It was a lovely experience and really good value for the price. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay while exploring Cornwall this is a great option. We mainly needed somewhere comfortable to sleep, and it was perfect for that. It’s close to pubs and restaurants and just a few minutes walk from the sea.

Location in the heart of Bath city, walking distance and accessible to most of the tourist attraction. Very good for couple on the go and going back to hotel late at night

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Staff are very kind and professional. There was mould in the shower.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

They didn’t leave us toilet paper, also rooms had paint flaking and beds were uncomfy

The receptionist/barmaid was pleasant and helpful. The property had character. We had requested an early breakfast to take out as we had to catch an early morning ferry. The hotel agreed to this. I spoke to the chef and he questioned it but said that he would make it for us. As far as we are concerned, he didn’t even get out of bed! I did say that he could make it the night before and we would be happy with that but he quite obviously didn’t want to accommodate us! We paid for a breakfast which we never received so in my opinion, we should be repaid some money!
