Great location easily accessible via public transportation Everything was great. There’s nothing I didn’t like

An amazing location in the clouds up in the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our Hakone visit Nothing

The dinners and breakfasts were really good. Came with a QR code to use with your phone to show how to prep the meal. Plus attentive staff. Room was a good size, annex mountain side. Nice quiet location, a convenience store a short walk one way and the pampas grass fields a short walk the other way. I found the air conditioning instructions were a bit hard to figure out.

The location was fine and close to Wetland Botanical Garden. Near a convenience store and a bus stop. Free drinks were nice. The food was disappointing. The dinner was served too quickly and we had to cook most of our own food at the table. There were written instructions on how to cook, but not much help from staff. The primary fish course, which they prepared, was overcooked and dry and inedible. Our room was okay but a bit tired. The in-room bath was much smaller than it appeared in photos.

The dinner was amazing. We also appreciate the cleanliness and the beautiful location. I’d have appreciated more flexibility about breakfast time. They booked our breakfast and 7:40 am (there were 2 later slots but already all reserved). I realized it is not a matter of space as every room has one reserved table. It was a matter of organizing the table preparation. Considering we have a young child they could have been more flexible in allowing us to arrive later.

Relaxing and good food

No one will help you with the luggage while you have to walk far and take the luggage upstairs. On the rainy day, it was very slippery.

The dinner spread was delicious with a variety of Japanese food entrees. I stayed for 2 nights dinner included and appreciate thst they have two different menu each night. I felt like royalty with the meal and its beautiful set up. Breakfast was grilled fish, sides with vegetable, egg, miso soup, and coffee. I loved the public onsen on-site which is separated by gender. There's one indoor onsen and one outdoor onsen - both have great quality water. Even though my room had a private onsen, the water temperature wasn't as hot as I'd like so I ended up using the public onsen more often. I'm not sure why they have paper towel dispenser set-up but a towel hanger with a towel would be more convenient and eco-friendly in the bathroom sink area. The hotel is about 40 minute bus ride from Hakone-Yumoto station. I took the bus from the station to the hotel around 2pm on a Thursday in February and the bus was packed so I had to stand the whole trip with my big weekend bag which was tiring. So keep that in mind if you'd prefer staying closer to the station.

Clean and comfortable room, spacious private onsen in room, free flow alcohol and beverage dispenser at lobby, good breakfast and kaiseki dinner. Car park available. Average room size, limited space for luggage if you have big luggage, small wardrobe

The location was very easy accesible by bus, which is 45 minute ride from the main Hakon station. There was very nice restaurant near called cafe dining ludera. The family mart is literally next to it,which is nice. I had private onsen and it was godly. nothing

Loved the food, private and public onsen. I was in the annex so it was not as loud as the main building. I wish I stayed more than one night to explore the area further.

Stunning property with gorgeous rooms

Loved the in room onsen bath and the authentic Japanese feel of the rooms with the mats and low table and cushions. Enjoyed wearing the robe, sash, overcoat and slippers to our meals. When I made the reservation, it was with the assumption that dinner would be served in our room for our family. This was listed on the website. This was not available once we arrived. The authentic Ryokan breakfast was too authentic for me and I wish any alternative would have been available (even toast and jelly). The “soft-boiled” egg was a hair over not raw as the whites were still clear. I tried, but couldn’t stomach the breakfast. On the other hand, the rest of my family enjoyed it very much. Their only complaint was the coffee. The coffee served in the lounge wasn’t great but the coffee in the restaurant was terrible.

Everything was perfect

The location is beautiful! The wooded area in the back is a perfect backdrop for that peaceful feeling of nature.
-
Would be nice to know in advance what does the traditional dinner and breakfast entail. The private onsen could've been cleaned better.
-
Very clean and convenient. The room felt cozy. I absolutely loved the private onsen.

Only 2-3 mins walk to convenience store and bus stop. From Odawara stn to hotel is about 45 mins by bus. Food is good.

Location was pretty secluded from public transport and some attractions.
