the owners are so extremely polite they make this experience. They have discounts available for ski passes and other excursions around. They cook wonderful breakfast and have a beautiful place. Would recommend to friends!

I loved the 3-course breakfast, coffee mornings, lounge, easy access to buy discounted ski tickets, the staff's full attention to our needs (although few), the pickup from the bus station, the quiet nights, the included laundry, and much more. I work in travel & tourism and have stayed in many 4-5-star hotels, and the value, quality, and attentiveness that Eternal Flame delivers are on par. This is a small, intimate place to stay. I loved the private onsen that we used every day. This place is worth every penny. Everything was exceptional.

The only downside—less about Eternal Flame and more about Hakuba generally—is the limited public transit. While there is a shuttle stop directly across the street from the property, it runs only once per hour for ski resorts only. Meanwhile, the restaurant options within Echoland are somewhat limited within walking distance. On a future trip, I would likely rent a car both for getting to and from the ski resorts and for accessing a wider range of dining options beyond the immediate area.

The room was great, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was presented beautifully as well as delicious. The on-site onsen is lovely after a big day skiing. The staff were excellent, friendly and always helpful. I loved the proximity to restaurants and the shuttle bus to get to the ski fields. N/A

Naohito Nomura, his wife and other key staff were absolutely spectacular. Service was beyond exceptional with every single interaction. Answering questions, making telephone calls for us, and even dropping us off at our next hotel, we felt like we were the most important people on earth. The physical property was also beyond wonderful, especially the cottage where we stayed, and the living room and dining room. The food was amazing, like you would find at a top restaurant. Such a wonderful experience. I can’t think of anything at all.

We loved our stay! The owners are so kind and helpful! They have thought of everything to make your trip easier and more relaxing. The accommodations are super comfortable, clean, and warm. I highly recommend staying at Eternal Flame!

Breakfast was amazing, staff very helpful, laundry done at no cost, shuttle to snow very close, restaurants easy walking distance, onsen bathrooms were a great experience.

Eternal flame exceeded our expectations and we would recommend staying here if you can. The hospitality there is unmatched, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were hosted well and taken care of. They picked us up and dropped us off at the station, and let us stay and use the amenities after the check out time. The breakfast was amazing and two courses, and cheffed up for each guest. It’s also located in a great area and very close to the ski hills with a shuttle! They are also very well connected with the ski resorts and rental places in the area and offer better rates. Above all else, Nao’s hospitality made our stay amazing. The bathrooms are clean but a bit outdated.

Absolutely loved my stay at Eternal Flame. It is a beautiful lodge and close to plenty of restaurants, as well as right across the road from a couple of the shuttle bus stops. Nao was a lovely host with excellent knowledge of the area to assist with deciding where to ski.

Excellent breakfast and service

Everyone here was so friendly and the service was absolutely wonderful. The facilities were clean, the breakfast was tasty, and the whole place is run extremely well. Nothing.

Nao and his team went above and beyond with outstanding customer service, making our group feel truly at home. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication. Our meals were exceptional, our accommodations were fantastic, and we truly appreciated their thoughtful recommendations in helping us choose the right ski resort each day based on the weather conditions. Their assistance in securing dinner reservations in town made our experience even more seamless. Thank you!

Very clean and very welcoming staff. Its a short walk to Echoland where there are a lot of restaurants and bars. The onsen was a great touch as well.

Very comfortable and common area allowed group to mingle. Nao and Kimmi were exceptional host and breakfasts were amazing. Nao helped with dinner reservations and with literally everything!

The owners at Eternal Flame were so accommodating and paid close attention to the details. The coffee machine and beautiful, varied breakfasts made our mornings! I enjoyed selecting a book from the comfortable communal area and having a beer with other guests there too. The owners were more than happy to collect us and drop us to the bus station and the property was in close walking distance to Echoland. The two onsens made for a perfect ending to a day on the slopes.

Super helpful owners - thanks so much! Great breakfast and onsen, really convenient location and lots of good food places nearby. The mattresses were really old, almost exposed springs and uncomfortable. This place would be a 10/10 if the beds were comfortable!
