Hotel Alsterblick

The location by the lake, away from the city centre but within walking distance, was perfect for me. The room was fabulous, with nice decor and furniture and everything you need, including a desk and a safe, and a pretty garden view. A secure parking area for my bicycle was an extra bonus. The staff were available 24 hrs and were nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was also great. The only minor issue was that noise carried from the reception area to my room along the corridor on the ground floor so that I was woken early by the normal conversation of daytime staff arriving in the morning. They were not loud but I am a light sleeper. Next time, I will ask for room upstairs.

Location at the Alster is awesome, the property beautiful in its restored landmark protected style Rooms vary in size and shape, some with very tiny bathrooms. Make sure you know what to expect

Breakfast was available until late. Room was generally clean. Reception staff aren’t very helpful, bordering on rude. Poor ventilation in my room with a musty smell. No phones/tablets in the room to contact reception and front desk is often unattended.

Such a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location. The room was divine! We had a suite and it was just glorious! The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. We’d definitely stay again. The parking was a bit complicated. There is no room service which I found to be a disadvantage as we did not want to leave the room :)

Excellent location. Breakfast choice excellent. Beds very comfortable and bathroom nice. First impression entrance carpets and lift had lots of ‘bits’ on them which looked dirty so this affected our impression of the hotel even before we got to the reception. The cheap long pile carpet in the bedroom was a surprise and again added to the feeling of grunginess. Car parking not available on the street despite being told it was. Hotel parking charge 25 euros. The pictures on Booking.com show nice polished wooden floors, whereas the picture of the room with the cheap carpet is cleverly cropped.

Super nice and service minded personnel during the whole stay. Large and clean room. Excellent breakfast. 25 Euros for 24 hours parking even when it was free to park on the street.

The room has an unique style with nice furniture, bed and facilities. The room I was spacious with a sitting place and working desk. I appreciated this. Location is the best part of this hotel, just infront of the Schone Ausicht water view with direct access to the walking/running circuit. Breakfast stuff was very helpful. I think most hotel dont ask credit card details by phone anymore due to security reasons. I was requested to give all my details by phone, even thou I had a previous booking at booking.com.

Beautiful location and great breakfast

Lovely room, perfect for parents with a child who could stay in the adjoining room. Large bathroom. Only one caffeinated coffee pod provided per day for the machine.
