There are probably similar hotels around that are less expensive. I also found it a bit strange that reception knew nothing about buses to the airport when in fact you can take #86 from 23 Hang Tre (5 mins walking) for 45k. Reception will quote you for a taxi at 300k.

The Hanoi House Hotel was perfect for the five days I was in Hanoi. First, the staff could not have been more helpful - including Tony, who was frequently at the front desk, but all were very kind. They helped me arrange two excellent side trips. The hotel is really a boutique hotel with only five or so floors with two rooms on each. I had one with a balcony that I could see all that was happening below. The hotel itself is charming, as are its rooms. They provide a made-to-order breakfast every morning, offering both Western and Eastern options. It is in a busy part of Hanoi (the Old Quarter) so there is a lot going on an occasional street noise. But all of this is made up for by the very special stay you will have here. Nothing

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was huge, very clean, and well maintained. The location is perfect —very close to everything, which made getting around so easy, and all at a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making the stay even more comfortable. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommended!

Then later in the day they presented me with a lovely birthday cake to celebrate. I very much appreciated this and was quite touched by this amazing act of kindness. Overall, everything about this place was outstanding and I would highly recommend staying there.

We absolutely loved this place. The staff were beyond friendly and helpful, housekeeping was great and breakfast was overly reliable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat (and plan to). Five stars all the way! Absolutely nothing!

The location of the hotel or the service attitude of the staff are very good, but the hotel gave me a smell in my room without windows.

Great location in the middle of Old Town, very close to Beer street, 5-10 min distance to lake. We booked via booking.com, it was cheaper than in person. We got room above the reception, we were afraid of that room, because wintow was just to reception area, but on the end of the day it was very good room. Good TV, with Netflix, large space. We booked trip to Ha Long bay right on desk next to reception. I don't know

Room was spacious with a nice balcony. Comfortable and we appreciated the mini bar. The hotel is well located in the old quarter and a quieter street. We were able to check in later around 1am and the hotel was able to send a car to pick us up at the airport. Staff were very friendly. N/a
