The location The fact that we had to struggle to pay with our credit card since we had no cash. They told us their machine was out of order, and I had a hard time to make them understand the problem……. Until suddenly, like by magic, their machine worked again.

Location was great. AC worked great. Staff was very helpful, answered any questions and helped me get transport from the airport and to my next stay. A lot of noise at night but to be expected. Staff offered to move me to the higher rooms if noise was too much.

Nothing It’s noisy and dirty. Molds everywhere, showerheads never changed probably 30 years. Your room is shaking when other guests are moving in their room. They have their dog on top floor, barking at night. Whole place is a joke

The location was right in the middle, so expect being a big noisy from the outside at night when all the streets become street markets and pubs. Staff are great and helpful. The external bathroom (it’s private tho). We felt uncomfortable going out from our room just to go to the bathroom coz the hallway between our bedroom and bathroom is public way and stairs so people from other floor walk through that hallway. So it felt strange.

Central location *Let me preface this by saying that the staff of this hotel are very friendly and helpful, and this is not a criticism of them. This hotel is a shambles, do not believe the positive reviews here. We were drawn to this hotel by its low price and seemingly good internet presence, however I’ve come to learn that you get what you pay for. The photos of rooms are clearly massively outdated or doctored, as this building is a disaster. We had a “superior” double room booked,for 5 nights, however, on checking in, the room was filthy, with loose wires everywhere, cracks in the walls, lamps not working, safe not working, bathroom light not working, and noise blaring through paper-thin walls from room next door. As we had a late arrival, we slept there the first night, and asked to be moved to a different room, however the second room was even worse. It was up three flights of stairs with no elevator (one floor had a ceiling height of about 5 feet, and we (6’0) had to crouch with our suitcases to get by. Cracked walls all over, grimy, stains everywhere, extremely noisy due to window being right up against the street-facing window (Hanoi streets are very loud, which is understandable especially in the tourist-crowded Old Quarter, so we were expecting some noise, but this was next level). No private bathroom, instead a public bathroom across a dark landing. Constant noise, especially at night. Woken up one night by someone trying to open our room door. Woken up at 2am one morning by a fellow guest checking in and literally having a panic attack at the state of her room. We managed three nights here and then just left to go stay somewhere else, and not a minute too soon. Again, let me stress that the staff here are lovely and obliging, but they are being set up to fail in such a bad hotel.

The location is great, right in the old quarter and a short walk to Hoan Kiem lake. The breakfast on the roof terrace was very good and the staff were very helpful. The bathroom was not in our room and our family room was located in what appeared to be separate from the main hotel.

I got a quiet room with excellent location in hanoi. I recommend staffs are very friendly and helpful. Shower pressure
