May De Ville Lakeside Hotel

Hotel is clean and comfortable. Location is in the middle of everything. Very close to the lake. On the weekend is very lively. Rooms are clean and modern. Bathroom has a little mold but overall very good. Breakfast is good. Bathrooms can be cleaner.

I specifically chose this hotel because one of the advertised benefits was early check-in. Despite arriving as planned, we were told to wait until the regular check-in time unless we paid an additional fee. What made this even more frustrating was watching other guests receive their rooms before us. If early check-in is advertised as a benefit, it should be honored when possible—not turned into an opportunity to charge extra. The room itself was another major disappointment. It had no windows, making it feel dark, cramped, and far from what you would expect from a hotel claiming to be five stars. The shower was extremely small and uncomfortable to use, and noise from outside and neighboring rooms made it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. Overall, this hotel does not meet the standards of a true 5-star property. Between the misleading early check-in promise, the attempt to charge extra, windowless rooms, poor sound insulation, and undersized bathroom, I cannot recommend staying here. There are many better options in Hanoi that offer much better value and a more honest guest experience.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent, we could get to most of the attractions by walk.

The room felt smaller than pictures. No view from small window in room.

Central location. The hotel is situated in the middle of old quarters and everything is nearby. The lake is 2 mins walk and the water puppet theater is too. The staff was amazing and helped us plan the day trips from Hanoi to nearby places. Bora the travel desk representative went above and beyond. She was constantly checking with us even after hours to make sure we’re taken care of and even helped us with some shopping with getting items delivered to hotel. She even paid cash for us so there was no inconvenience. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an amazing stay.

It was close to everything and the staff was amazing It is hard to think of something I didn’t like. I guess I would say that I didn’t like the fact the breakfast was almost exactly the same thing everyday. Breakfast was tasted good.

This property is at an excellent location to walk around and find food. Is also right across the street from a laundromat. The Breakfast staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are bottles of water on the counter that are free and then there are bottles of water in the refrigerator that are not free. The bathrobes are for a tiny Asian person. There is a 5% charge for using credit cards.

Location was very good ? Our bathroom was a poor design. The shower was small in the corner

Nice hotel, staff and location No thing

No complaints. Just that on weekends, if you check-in/check-out in the evening, you need to be aware that your taxi will not come to the hotel, since many streets in the Old Qarter are closed for the night market set up on weekends. You need to get dropped/picked up at a distance, but the hotel staff will help you with your luggage.
