Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Harrisonburg

Parking was challenging as horse trailers took up many spots. We had to park at another nearby hotel parking lot which was an inconvenience. We had reserved a King Suite for 3 adults and 1 child. The pull out couch was just a twin sized bed so one of my children had to sleep on the floor. How could this room be suitable for 4 people?! I asked for a cot but was told they couldn’t bc it was against code. The front desk supplied extra sheets for the floor but didn’t have pillows. The room description should share that the pull out couch is a single vs full.

First room had an overwhelming bleach smell. Moved to another room with poor AC. Staff tried to fix but we didn't sleep well. Probably won't stay there again.

Room was nice and spacious. Breakfast and parking were great. Looked in a great area where there is so many places to shop. Pool was nice but it was freezing in the pool area and pool water was warm. Temperature should have been comfortable to swim as when you got out you were freezing.

The entrance was not impressive as the construction renovation was going on. Staff was OK not too impolite and not too helpful, Breakfast was pretty good.We were given complimentary access to our Neighbourhood full service gym.

Friendly, professional staff, but malfunctioning computers for check-in, inside construction without notification during registration process, and mediocre breakfast, all made my experience less than ideal.

Very clean!

We had a very nice stay. Very clean and the room was perfect.

Reception staff excellent. Very helpful, friendly, welcoming. Breakfast staff also friendly, attentive. Property is currently undergoing face lift in lobby.

The hotel is under construction in the lobby. Not a big deal; it would have been nice to know before booking. I like to use the lobby for working when traveling with my family. The room was beat up and worn. Only two full-size towels. Breakfast was very busy; not the staff's fault, but they were out of coffee and had limited hot food items left for guests.

Lit confortable

The hotel was under construction but still clean with a very nice accommodating staff. The pool area was clean with no over powerful chlorine smell and they have a nice hot tub! The beds were white linen and very comfortable. We took two small kids and stayed 4 days this trip. I can't say enough kind things about the lady running the breakfast area, Again, with construction she keeps it extra clean, The food is cooked proper and fresh. They have a waffle station and she makes the best oatmeal ;)

Parking was good. But the hotel was under some renovations and I wouldn’t have booked here had I known. The pool doesn’t look like the pictures. The hot tub is chipping away inside. Grout in the pool area has black mold in some areas. There were never towels stocked we had to ask. Breakfast area was behind a tarp. Hallway had mini fans and a musty smell and low or no AC. Our room AC also had a musty, stale smell everytime it kicked on.

Hotel hallways had no air the entire stay. No pool towels and they said when they run out you are out. Pool room was freezing. My children did not even want to stay in there. Noone was cleaning that room. Chairs broken in kitchen and the hotel was under construction. None of this was listed anywhere so we would know before booking. The heat/no ac was terrible and it was to late to book anywhere else. Very disappointed

Breakfast items quality and different options should improve

The strong smell of chlorine from the pool was noticeable all the way to the elevators. We stayed on the third floor, where there was no air conditioning in the hallways. There were two small fans at either end of the hall, but they did very little to cool the area. While the air conditioner in our room worked, the room still felt humid and had a noticeable musty, moldy odor. I was told the guest rooms are scheduled to be updated in November, and they definitely need it. On a positive note, the office staff was friendly and courteous throughout our stay. However, because of the current condition of the hotel, I don't think I'll return until I know the renovations have been completed.

Everything was good, staff were very professional and very friendly. The check in process was smooth.
