Miyajima Coral Hotel

This was a very disappointing experience for us.It was advertised as a night in Miyajima but it s not actually at the island..It isnvery close to the ferry though so that was a plus.We were told.we.would get the sea view but it turned out to be a just a corner view from our window.The building in front covered the rest.The room ,bed and blankets smelled musty .

What we loved Travelled as a family of four with two teenagers (12 and 14) Offered coffee samples and skincare products Good gift shop with local food produce to purchase The reception staff were the most accommodating and lovely!! Thank you Dinner in the evening was great, offering guests a slight discount and a private room (see photo) Just 2 minutes from the ferry dock to Miyajima (love Miyajima) Oysters are the hit in the area - size of your hand! Clean reception area Mostly Japanese travellers stay there Breakfast was affordable compared to other chains What we didn't like Breakfast was timed, which was tricky with two teenagers since we hadn't pre-booked, so we had to get up at 7am to get in. A bit annoying, so book early if you can. The rooms smelt a bit odd, like someone had been smoking; perhaps the hotel was previously a smoking property that's since gone non-smoking. Could use a fragrance spray. Since lemon seems to be a signature scent of the area, a suggestion for the manager: have housekeeping add a couple of drops of lemon oil to water and spray each room after cleaning.

Bedding felt cheap and uncomfortable

Very close to the ferry port and was overall very nice as were the staff.

Super convenient to get on the ferry to Miyajima. I also liked the space in the room and accommodation to switch the pillows. One of bed felt old.

Location was perfect! 5 minute walk to train station. We had an early 9am Oyster Cruise that departed from the port and the Miyajim Coral is right on the waterfront, 2 min walk to the ferry. The Staff went above and beyond to make our 1 night stay perfect for our family of 4 adults. We checked in late, but the staff was so accommodating and helpful. We had a slight issue with the room that we had booked and they were so patient. We had made the mistake in our booking, but they were amazing and put us in a room that was much better suited for us. The Miyajima Coral staff customer service was exceptional! We had a late dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious!! Highly recommend! The breakfast was included in our booking and they had both Continental options and Japanese options. Both were also very delicious. Highly Recommend this property! Wish we had booked more days here.

Right next to the train station and ferry. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good Japanese style breakfast.

The location was the best, only a few steps away from the ferry. We were three adults and asked three beds but one of them turned out to be a sofa bed. That is definitely not as comfortable as a real bed. We would have made a different choice if that had been explicitly stated.

The staff were incredible! So friendly and ready to assist you. The location was prime to get access to the Tori gate and we even were lucky enough to get a room that had a view of it. The rooms were a little dated but overall the space, location, and staff made this hotel pretty incredible. We stayed here for our honeymoon and were given some chopstick rests from their famous pottery store. Would 100% recommend staying here.

I liked the proximity to the train station and the miyajima ferry. I liked that they held our luggage while we explored the island. Everything was so easy and the staff is wonderful. Limited outlets in the room. Furniture and bedding felt kind of dated / old.

The location is great. Close to the train station(s) and close to the ferry. It is a better location probably than to stay on the island when you are only here for a short visit. The room is ok but bed is rather small, room does have everything you need. The room is clean and staff is really helpful and could lave our luggage at the start of the day. The restaurant is really good and we enjoyed a real good meal here. The bed could be more comfy and a bit bigger, but that probably will not fit in the room.
