Cochin Zen Hotel

I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was safe and clean. The breakfast had a variety of food choices and an omelet station.. Annie at reception was an absolute gem!! She was courteous and professional. I had several questions about the property and she answered all of them. The biggest compliment I can give is to say I will return and that I would recommend this hotel to friends visiting HCMC.. Sadly, everyone's experience and expectations are different. I travel a lot and experienced some wonderful places and some not so good. As a traveler you should keep an open mind and remember you get what you pay for!! I would consider Cochin Zen hotel a diamond in the rough!! I loved it..

Location is sensational and very close to everything, markets, bars good eateries. The window wasn’t sealed so let in all the heat of the 36 degree day so was really hot in the room 610 just hope you never get that room it’s a sweat box, the aircon didn’t sufficiently cool down the room to sleep as the windows aren’t sealed and are very loose and barely even lock.

We had a lovely stay at Cochin. Staff were all amazing, the daily breakfast had great variety and was great value. Location walking distance from many landmarks. Many good options for dining. Located centrally which means most tours will pick you up from the front of the hotel. We loved it all. Like many others of our other experiences within Asia, the beds run on the firmer side which was no problem for us.

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating (especially the porter). The ambience and decor was exceptional throughout and felt very calming. Had an Iron and ironing table in the room which is always very useful and also had mini bar and snacks too. It is also in a great location within walking distance to the Opera house, Ben Thanh markets, Walking street etc. This hotel was better than some of the 4 and 5 star hotels I've stayed in Ho Chi Minh and will definitely stay here again. Checking out took a while and our taxi wouldn't wait, the shower could have used a curtain or bigger screen to prevent water splashing over the floor.

Nothing

Nothing other than a great bell man. The phone and rest room vent not working. I had run down to inform front desk of everything. They were not able to fixed the issues. The room smelled like a kitchen due vent not working. I suggest I get refund for 1 night stay.

Very nice and very cozy Nothing

Location, door staff and decor I paid more per night than other times I visited a Cochin. I never recall a tub, usually a walk in shower and the bed was as stiff as other lower rated hotels. The shower in this set up makes a mess of the bathroom floor plus good luck positioning the shower wand on top of hot/cold water. I swear I remember the bed being plush vs stiff. Room price isn't competitive for what you get. Knowing this I'll pick an alternative.

Convenient location. Nothing

Good location, spacious room. Wasn't given the room I selected and was told it had been booked by someone else. Also on check-in the woman was not very polite and said, "Sit down there" as a command rather than, "please have a seat". Overall the quality wasn't worth the price. I paid ~$150usd/night and have found similar standard for around $60 nearby.
