I arrived at 9pm to be told there has been no power or water for days. Every where else had power. I’ve been traveling for 22 hours so they gave me a flash light and I went to my room. The only window to open was a slider to the outside common hallway so I couldn’t leave that open. The bed was incredibly soft, used soft. The staff was super nice. I ended up calling Expedia at 3 AM and they got me a new hotel for the next morning.

Hurricane Lala passed through and the hotel lost power for a couple of days - however other businesses in the area had power the day after - and parts of Royal Grove we’re on but the rooms with power were given to other guests and not existing ones. We were told we would be moved/compensated and nothing was done. The manager Rain has been dodging all contact. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Please consider having vents in bathroom. The room smelled sweaty and terrible. It was unbearable; we had to buy lysol and air disinfectant to have a comfortable stay in the room.

place had no power no amenities no hot water. Had to check out within 5 hours due to that issue. Was not a pleasant check in at all.

Pros: - Great Staff - They even got us in a room before the normal check-in time. - Low Cost - One of the least at Waikiki beach area. - Close to Cruise port. - Short 2 minute walk to Kuhio/Waikiki beach. - The beds were fine and clean. The bathroom was good with clean towels for the bath/shower. - The pool was clean and refreshing from the wet heat of Hawaii. - Elevators saved lugging luggage upstairs. - Air conditioning worked great. - Our room included a refrigerator, stove, microwave with pots, plates and utensils. - Plenty of plugs for recharging laptops, tablets, cell phones, etc. Shock: Parking - $49/night and 4 blocks away. But at $49 it was actually a bargain as others charge $65/night. Street parking is difficult to find, and some parking places have meters. Worse is watching tow trucks haul away vehicles who tried to park in places that were not marked for parking. Cons: The hotel is old: chipped/peeling paint, crooked halls, possibly due to hotel expansion and occasional small bugs in the bathroom.

The room was comfortable. The staff were helpful even with the power out. And everything was working perfectly.

Our first room, poor air conditioning system. They offer an electric fan but do not do justice with the heat. The door seems like it was force fully opened several times The second second room, the door knob inside was loose, Presence of cockroaches inside the room. Even the room looks clean but it smells very old. poor air conditioning system too, the worse part no hot water for two days. Hallways are dirty, the paints are dilapidated, even the hotel sign have worn out paint it is way far from the picture posted here at expedia. The worst is NO Parking available you need to park 10 minutes away from the hotel. Good location but Very Bad Hotel Even your on budget look for other location

Asked for extra pillow 3 times never got one, said power would be back by 6 never came on - never apologized- room was not horrible but close!!

Cockroaches in rooms, bathrooms smelled like mildew, beds had only sheets and no comforters. Tub was clogged. Carpets had unknown stains and felt moist. Rooms did not look like how they did online. Stayed during hurricane lala and when the power went out, we were given no updates and we had to go out of our way to figure out when power would be back on. all buildings around the hotel and even different floors got power back within the same day except for the hotel and select floors (including the one we stayed on), and when we questioned the staff they were rude and unhelpful. the hotel does not have a backup generator, which turned out to be a safety hazard considering we were without electricity (ac, hot water, etc.) for over 24 hours. we went to the lobby to ask about updates late at night, and the staff came in with bags of flood lights for the lobby but did not offer any to us or other guests in the lobby. No one was checking on us or other guests at all during the power outage, either. Overall, we received terrible service from unreliable staff, and it was clear that there was little to no preparation for a possible power outage because of the hurricane.

Great location to the beach, you get what you pay for, the place is a bit tired, rooms don't get cleaned everyday (ours didn't for a week just something to be aware of)

Since we were unhappy with the accommodation, the staff offered us a refund for the remaining nights. The staff said there was nothing they could do regarding the wifi not working in our room or the cleanliness, but the refund allowed us to book another hotel for our last four nights. The manager was very kind to us regarding our complaints and was happy to refund us the money. Room was unclean upon check in. Last guest's hair was on the shower wall and cock roaches were crawling into our bags. The wifi wasn't working from the start and couldn't be fixed, however the staff tried to. Room was generally dusty and unclean with very basic amenities (fridge only, no microwave to use in the hotel). Staff said there was no other options for us such as moving us rooms or having another clean, and told us cockroaches were to be expected in the environment (they weren't an issue at any other hotel). Not everyone would be able to afford to book a new accommodation without first receiving the refund which as expected took a couple days to receive but luckily that was an option for us (and was well worth it)

It was really close to the beach you didn't have to go far for any food it had a full-on kitchenette what utensils which made it very helpful if you wanted to just make your own meal everyone was friendly and the music was really nice on Wednesdays trying to set up my next trip to the same place

The air conditioner was great. The laundry room was available everyday when I needed it.

Very old and outdated hotel in perfect location. If you dont plan stay in the room all day uts perfect hotel for you. In the middle of Waikiki, with plenty dining options around.

If you are not willing to pay a little more then take what you pay for. I stayed here thinking that I would like to expend money exploring instead of a hotel room. I’m not afraid of cockroaches but my daughter was so I kept killing them almost daily, the three days I stayed here the noise was crazy, paper walls no windows to open, our window was facing a side walk with lots of people walking by, the bed had little spiders so I removed all blankets and asked for clean ones, but as I said if you don’t mind to pay less for keeping your luggage there and stay out all day then stay here. Lots to say but I will keep it for my own experiences.

This room.was so bad, the bottom of the doors were splintered, lampshade dirty. The sliding glass door took 2 of us to open it. The sheet was so thin. Thats what we recieved to cover us, we had to ask for a blanket. This could be a really cool boutique hotel. Its disgusting now.

I’ve traveled a lot and this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. To start off we asked for them to cleaned our rooms many times and they denied and said they cleaned every 5 days, which we thought was weird because some of us are very sensitive to dirty-ness on the bed. For example two of us are very delicate to dirty-ness on the bed and not getting the bed cleaned caused us to not sleep most nights. In particular, one of the staff had attitude towards us even though it’s her job to clean. She made multiple faces and didn’t want to give us towels or new blankets. Later on in our stay we found a cockroach in the bathroom, which we had asked the staff to clean it before but they denied. Very disgusting to have cockroaches in their hotels. The bathroom toilet also had a small leek, also very disgusting. As well as one of our other family members had an ant infestation in a separate room, very disgusting. I would not recommend staying at this hotel to anyone. 1/10 stars.
