This was my second stay at Wings Hotel and it was just as excellent as the first. The hotel is spotl

  • Engine customer May 2026

The staff were very kind. The room was nice and comfortable. The location is good. The gym had weights and a cable machine - pretty decent. It occasionally got noisy because of the street outside. The breakfast options were identical every day (although not bad per se). The staff’s English-speaking skills were limited.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. THIS IS A SERIOUS WARNING. This hotel is a complete SCAM and NOT SAFE . Do not be fooled by the beautiful photos. During our stay, a significant amount of CASH WAS STOLEN from our room SAFE. The next day we discovered another couple who were robbed from their safe on the exact same day. This is clearly not a coincidence. This is a pattern . The hotel was dismissive and uncooperative. Instead of taking responsibility, they made excuses about a “long investigation” that could take up to two months and showed no real intention to help. They even tried to prevent us from meeting the other couple, but we ran into each other in the lobby. We insisted on involving the police and even went to the police station ourselves, but nothing was done and they refused to officially open a case. After a heated argument, the hotel called the police on us and forced us to check out without refunding the remaining nights or offering any compensation. Only afterward did we discover other reviews reporting similar thefts, including from room safes. This hotel is unsafe. Your money is not secure. Your safety is not guaranteed. Stay far away.

The hotel is located in the best area of Istanbul – Pera. It's on a quiet, European street. The hotel is new, opened six months ago. Immediately upon entering, you'll notice the beautiful design and high-quality materials (unlike most hotels in Istanbul, which are very old or, if new, are made of cheap, low-quality materials). The lobby is beautiful with sofas for relaxing. The cleanliness is immediately noticeable. The room cleaning was very good. This is a rarity in Istanbul. I booked the Standard room, but the hotel upgraded me to a Premium room for free. I'm very happy because the Standard rooms face a brick wall. However, I think they're not that bad. My Premium room was on the 3rd floor (the Standard rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors, behind a brick wall). My room overlooked the quiet courtyard of the Greek Orthodox Church. Quiet nighttime is a rarity in central Istanbul. No bars, no music, just absolute silence. The room is very comfortable and quite large. Nice new bed linens. The mattress and pillows are comfortable. They provide a free large bottle of water every day. There's a Nespresso coffee machine, with four capsules daily. The bathroom has plenty of towels, slippers, a hairdryer, soap, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. The hotel is easy to reach by taking the Sishane metro and exiting onto Istiklal Street (I think the exit is called Tünel/Galata). Other exits are rather inconvenient. It's literally a 6-7-minute walk to the hotel. It's easy to walk even with heavy suitcases; the road is flat. Just 10 meters from the hotel, you'll find yourself on the wonderful tourist street Istiklal. The famous red trams run along it. There's a Zara and many other shops there. Galataport is a 15-minute walk away, offering a picturesque promenade, shopping mall, and a variety of cafes. - All the pillows are the same. - The minibar is expensive. - There's no body lotion, robe, or shower cap in the bathroom. There are no toothbrushes either. - They rarely check under the bed when cleaning (I found a few things from previous guests there). They also forgot to empty the desk drawers. - Regarding the reviews about money going missing from the rooms, I didn't lose anything, but I've seen many similar reviews about other hotels in Istanbul, so I either carried all valuables with me or locked them in a suitcase with a combination lock.

    Absolutely nothing

I don’t have a breakfast. Location is great! The pillows are very thick. Not everyone likes thick pillows, and there are no thin pillows. Their’s no variety of pillows. Unfortunately

    Friendly Staff

    - Same exact modest breakfast every day: 2 scrambled eggs and several small plates with snacks like cheese. 25 euro per person. - I had to specifically ask for everything: bath robes, toilet paper, water, towels, etc. The staff is super friendly, but I should not have to ask for these basic things. - Water in shower overflows on the floor, bathroom is a mess. - No restaurant or spa for such hefty price.

I liked the rooftop restaurant where I enjoyed both the view and breakfast. I requested early check-in for an additional charge so I could freshen up before meeting my tour guide, but there was no room available when I arrived. (My request was confirmed at the time of reservation.) The only way to get a room was to upgrade for an additional 44 euros. The upgrade fee was waived. I was not given an idea what the upgraded room would cost only it was 44 euros more. The "more" troubled me. But I had a scheduled appointment so I had no choice. The other issue was the shower did not drain properly. If water from the shower head was slow, draining could keep up. A vigorous shower would cause water to overflow onto the floor. I notified the front desk as I headed out for the day. The issue was acknowledged, the problem was not resolved at the end of the day. The front desk person was not friendly and lacked any social or person skills, but the baggage handler was most helpful to direct me to the rooftop restaurant where breakfast was served when I wandered into what appeared to be a logical location in the lobby for breakfast. I was not even aware there was a restaurant inside the hotel. With the language barrier, the hotel could provide hotel information, and maps and tram information to help visitors navigate the city. The hotel could use some PR and be more accommodating.
