Flats Company - Karakoy Apartment

The location could be a lot better. It's in a neighborhood of hardware stores. There is a big and busy road nearby. The neighborhood you can walk to is a bit touristy. It is close to public transportation and close to old town if you want to go see the sights. I would suggest staying further away from old town and the golden horn in a more local area, though. Not bad overall.

Good central location close to all transport hubs and sight-seeings. Smooth self check-in. Has a lot of facilities despite of small size of the room. Not perfectly clean. The portable stove got me heavily electrocuted even though I used it properly. Also it feels shady they’re asking to send my passport photo a week in advance.

It’s well cleaned. A place of a lot of freedom, all with a password, for those who like autonomy. The room has a comfortable bed, functional kitchen, air conditioning. Wi fi. Good price. It's a place next the Galata tower, what’s is good, but the hotel is in a maze of alleys, warehouses, construction shops around probably because is near the port. The shower wasn't coming out properly but I could use it.

Great stay with a perfect location for the value. Everything was clean and I really enjoyed my time here. The walls are quite thin, so you can hear sounds from other rooms and the hallway. I recommend bringing earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

It’s a 10-minute walk to beautiful cafés and bars, and just 2 minutes from a lovely waterfront where you can go for evening walks every day. All the must-visit mosques are within a 30-minute walk, and the bazaar is about 20 minutes away — with beautiful views along the way. I definitely recommend it. The location is amazing. The apartment itself is a bit worn out. There was a smell coming from the sewage/drains. But the towels, bed, and shower were clean, so overall everything was fine.

Despite the detailed description on how to enter the room on our own, we were greeted by the manager, and our very few requests and queries were met speedily and fully (well, because we're charming and reasonable). The workshops in the area may look intimidating to some, but you're really close to so many wonders of Istanbul... So fear not! The rest is to make the word counter happy here.

This was my second stay here. Everything was excellent: location, place and staff. I recommend to everyone!

Outstandingly well-organized operation is Rate Flats Co. The experience surpassed our expectations. In all honesty, this has been the best experience with an accommodation during this trip with my wife in Turkey. Communication was easy and clear. Staff assisted us with requests for an early check-in and upgraded our room. The master room itself was spacious with high ceilings and modern well-appointed furnishings. The kitchen made for easily prepared breakfasts. The flat was very comfortable. The wi-fi was solid. I even taught online classes during my stay. Again, outstanding! We intend to return during our next visit to Istanbul.

The location is handy to a lot of things, but is at the bottom of the hill and not so close to any of the transport options. The area itself is kind of industrial and at night you have to walk an uphill distance to get to restaurants and sights. The place was pretty clean and the hot water was always hot and available. The AC was good also aside from one night when there was an electricity outage. The businesses across the alley from the hotel are staffed by men who smoke and drink tea, talking very loudly until the small hours of the morning.
