Georges Hotel Galata

The property is located in the most beautiful street in Istanbul. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the Bosphorus and surrounding city. The room was styled properly and tastefully. The staff is very helpful and pleasant, they were always checking whether we needed any help. The restaurant is on the top floor overlooking the Bosphorus as well. As I mentioned to the nice gentleman who asked for feedback on anything that could be improved, the bath mat could have been longer to avoid water leaking into the floors. The shower had half glass to complement the room style and the water could reach the floor if not being careful. He told me they were very well aware of the issue but the style prevented them from making changes. I thought it was very honest and I was pleased that they already knew. Thus, this comment also highlights a big positive from the staff at the property.

View from the roof restaurant is amazing. Two local friends from the area joined me for cocktails and were impressed. Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque in view. Friendly staff and warm welcome. Room and bed comfortable. Despite reading some odd reviews there are a couple of coffee capsules free and tea, water and kettle. No problems with any of that and any queries handled by ever available staff. I will stay again when next in town. The design of the room is for a purpose and it works. Maybe include tea or coffee with breakfast if you are a guest? That might have tipped me into having breakfast at the hotel.

The hotel’s location was outstanding, and the staff were phenomenal-smart, professional, and genuinely supportive. They handled everything with care and confidence and were a pleasure to deal with. The team felt young, dynamic, and highly capable. I especially loved the rooftop restaurant.

The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. For future improvements, we would love if more rooms with bath facilities were available, as this would enhance the comfort of the stay. Additionally, a larger reception area would make check-in and waiting times more convenient for guests.

The electricity , the new year eve they dis not take my request for table on the side of window and they were late with the food and was not professional , they need work on restaurant

The hotel has a great location and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was uncomfortable and caused back pain, and the room needs more furniture such as a sofa.

Location was great, wonderful rooftop and bar staff. Receptionist Yassin at front desk was lovely. Dirty overall, run down rooms and bathrooms leaky shower. Behind furniture we found dust and mold. Hot water not guaranteed if hotel is at capacity. Towels raggedy some stained, robes with ripped belt holes. Bed mattress sunken in the middle, thin walls, bad sleep.

The Georges Hotel is one of my favorite hotels. We were lucky to stay in the hotel for a week about 10 years ago over the New Year holiday when the hotel was relatively new. I was able to return just recently and hope to again soon. The rooms are large and beautifully apportioned in a historic building in a fantastic neighborhood above the bustle of the city. The building underwent refurbishment by a noted architect that rendered it thoroughly modern with all possible conveniences without losing its historic feel. The Georges Hotel reflects the best of Turkish hospitality and quality with a French touch in the cool, artistic Galata neighborhood. I especially love the calm yet buzzy terrace restaurant on the top floor overlooking the Bosphorus, Golden Horn and the old city with a gorgeous view of the mosques and lights of Istanbul. The Georges Hotel is for me a happy place with great memories and inspiration. Nothing I can think of. It is even better after 10 years of service without any sign of wear and tear, just a little more patina of its own lovely character.

The location is perfect, the atmosphere calm and elegant, and everything was spotlessly clean. We had a small issue during our visit, and the manager handled it in an excellent and very satisfying way. Overall, it’s a beautiful and well-managed hotel that we would happily return to.

The location was amazing ! The rooms were decently sized and clean and super comfy beds The air conditioning was faulty for 2 nights.. but the management was super wonderful in doing whatever they could to help with a cooler and treating us to cocktails at their rooftop bar .. which was a plus

Hotel Georges Galata was the perfect home base for our time in Istanbul. The location couldn’t be better — just steps from the Galata Tower and a few minute walk to the tram, which made it easy to get to the historic sites in Sultanahmet. We loved the nearby local restaurants, and the fact that we could often spot the Galata Tower from around the city made it easy to find our way back. The hotel's rooftop restaurant was a real highlight — peaceful, with an amazing view of the Bosphorus. It was the perfect spot to unwind with a nightcap after a day of exploring. The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We didn’t book a room with a balcony or Bosphorus view and kind of wish we had — our room was still comfortable, and the bed was great. The windows blocked out all outside noise, which was a nice surprise in such a lively area. The bathroom layout could have been a bit better, but everything was clean and stocked with lovely Atelier Rebul toiletries. Also, a small but memorable detail — the hotel smelled amazing! And of course, there’s Lollipop — the hotel’s beautiful resident cat. Sweet with guests but an absolute diva compared to the other local cats. Lollipop knows he/she is elite and living the good life at Hotel Georges. One thing I missed was having breakfast included. At every other hotel we stayed at in Turkey, a traditional Turkish breakfast was part of the stay — and always a highlight. Hotel Georges does offer breakfast on its beautiful rooftop, but it’s at an additional cost, which felt like a missed opportunity given the setting. Also worth mentioning: the in-room coffee pods were not complimentary and were part of the mini bar charges — a small detail, but a bit unexpected. Also it was not possible to read in the room due to the lighting, the stairwells were dark as well.

Wonderful location. Wonderful and very personable service hotel and bar/restaurant. Wonderful room. I do not have anything remotely negative to say.

The shower flooded a bit too easy but everything else was OK.
