Waw Hotel Galataport

Location was exceptional and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Handy parking too.

*The staff (the receiptists) were fabulous. They were jovial, happy to help and gracious. *The location was a 10. It is a 5 min walk from the cruise ship terminal (we arrived at the end of a 10 day cruise). It is 4 min walk to the T1 tram line which will take you to the tourist central area (Sultanahmet). It is 8-10 min walk to all kinds of restaurants as well as Galata Tower. It is located in a residential area. *The room size was generous and the bed was comfortable. Water pressure was great. Wifi was good. Air condition worked. *The bath towels were below an acceptable standard for hotels. The first day, there was a red mark on the hand towel hanging on the towel rack. All the towels that were in our room were frayed at the edge, thin and well used. *The bathroom grouts were very stained *The tea kettle/sink area needed major re-grouting, and cleaning. *Many of the floor planks show wear/tear. *Our room was "Deluxe Double Room with Balcony". The balcony was a juliet balcony and you could not step outside. We were fine with it but thought that we booked a room that had a real balcony where you would sit outside or had a view. *When we arrived at 8:15am, the lobby had towels over the couches, and personal items on the coffee table. The night receptionist rest/slept there at night. This did not project a professionally run property.

Fantastic location near Galataport and restaurants in Karakoy with easy access to tram to old city. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Great shower. The top duvet is not quite as wide as the bed so for 2 people, it’s challenging. The towels were dingy, clean but with dirt spots. And I had to clean the toilet seat initially as it looked like it hadn’t been wiped down. No deal breakers. As we were staying during Ramadan, it is close to several mosques so we not only heard the broadcast call to prayer but also the drummers who wake people up for the first meal (at 3am!) but that’s just part of being in the area at this time of year.

nothing 1. One staff called us at 1am just because one customer complained they heard some random noise, but not sure from where. He just called to ask if it’s us, we were asleep, it’s a pretty rude behaviour. 2. We requested airport taxi from hotel, it’s cooperated with the hotel. The company increased the price a week ago. The taxi driver lied to us about the delay due to busy traffic, so he had to drive express tunnel with 200lira extra. I refused to do so as well as checked google map, and turned out the tunnel is the only way to the Sabiha airport. He didn’t want to let us go and requested to call the police. He also bargained 100 lira less with us. It’s ridiculous and unreliable hotel service! 3. The bathroom itself was with clogged drain, it’s very very annoying and disgusting. 4. very bad soundproof 5. The first day staff was helpful with information we needed, the rest was useless. The laundry service was very expensive as well.

the location is outstanding! The staff, cleaners and receptionists are amazing and friendly They speak a very good English. I loved it.

staffs are friendly, they even gave us a bigger room than what we’ve booked room is not soundproof, the facilities are not clean especially the bathroom, we found some moulds in the shower

great location, very clean, friendly and helpful staff, large room and comfortable bed. Very close to the Tophane T1 tramway stop and ease of access to city centres on both sides of the Golden Horn. could have done with a bedside reading lamp. unfortunately I mentioned it too late for the hotel to be able to install it.

Great location for moving around the city by walking. Tipical turkish hood. Agency for airport transport wasn't waiting us with our name written. But,we arrange it with hotel staff who immediately reacted.

location and staff were absolutely the best. it was clean and spacious. the night curtains in our room were only for decoration. there was a street lamp that was on the level of our window so it was pretty bright in the room at night
