Hotel Dormy Inn Kagoshima Natural Hot Spring

Always a good time a dormy inn because I like their natural onsen baths. Great location, short walking distance from the main arcade street with great food options.

We stayed just for one night before catching to ferry over to Yakushima. The hotel is convenient and clean. Unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy the hotel onsen or breakfast buffet, as we had to wake up very early the next day. nothing

I try to stay at Dormy Inns when I travel to Japan. I like the basic, comfortable rooms and the onsens. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and coffee ok. The staff is always helpful and kind. Free laundry is always a bonus. nothing

Walking distance to airport shuttle and Donkie across the street. Like the hot spring on top. Bathroom in separate area in the room but trap all smell, need a stronger fan

Good breakfast, excellent location, nice staff, good onsen with sauna, free ice cream, yakult, evening ramen. Value for money. Very hard bed, small room.

The amenities provided for the onsen went above and beyond what I expected compared to any other hotel or average ryokan; extra amenities like morning coffee and night noodle snacks both available free of charge! They cleverly used the space to keep bath facilities private and quiet from the nearby (relatively) busy Tenmonkan nightlife district. The single room itself is about the same space as a typical Japanese business hotel, but well worth for what was offered. Washing machines here have no cost to operate and next to the gender separated onsens, but dryers do. Not the hotel at fault, but the city's public transit itself slows down with lower scheduled buses and trams at night; plan carefully if you expect to be out deep into the night.

Free late night ramen, free ice cream, free public bath AND free breakfast! Really great hotel, with so many extra amenities :).

The onsen was nice. The complimentary drinks and snacks were appreciated. The breakfast offered many healthy options. The rooms were boring—no decorations—-and below my expectations for cleanliness.

As usual, Dormy Inn did not disappoint. Excellent onsen with sauna (it was never too busy), convenient location, everything run very efficiently. At this price point, I find them virtually unbeatable. The rooms are very small, but I knew that ahead of time and the price was very affordable. The onsen as your “extended living room” easily makes up for the small room.

Comfortable firm (but not hard) beds with really fluffy comforters. Room was a decent size for Japan. Lots of free amenities and onsen. Breakfast was one of the best Japanese hotel breakfasts I’ve had, with all the local specialties. Rooms were not very well soundproofed. Room was also a little old, AC a little smelly

The hotel has a great onsen. Even though the room is small, the onsen adds real comfort and relaxation. The location is superb, and the facilities are well organized. Nothing overly fancy, but it has everything you need. The indoor wear provided by the hotel was not comfortable. It wasn’t cotton or any kind of functional fabric.

The onsen was very pleasant and a good place to relax. The breakfast was fine with a Japanese influence but some Western style food as well.

Excellent location and facilities. Would warn anyone that may have a tattoo, whether small or large that you will not be allowed in the hotel's onsen. Inability to access onsen due to small tattoos

Our room was stuffy and there was an unpleasant smell, espacially in the bathroom.

Dormy Inns are excellent value for money, and this branch is no different. There was a problem with my original room, and when I spoke to the staff they immediately handled the issue and were friendly and professional. The onsen on the top floor is great as well.
