Great location near a tram line, train station and Temmonkandori, rooms clean and very functional, good onsen and fantastic breakfast with stunning view ⛰️ Dunno pretty good all round.

Lovely staff and pretty good room Personally im not a fan of those hard rock pillows. At first i thought the shower didnt work but i had to press a button on the showerhead to make it come out of the showerhead. Would also have been nice if the fridge was already turned on

Quite a bit of light streamed into my room from the bottom of the door, as well as from the edges of the window curtains. Also, when I arrived, the room was pretty hot and it took a little while to for the AC to cool it down, so I had to wait until it was cool enough to sleep. Finally, I was really looking forward to the hot spring bath after my morning jog by the river, but unfortunately the bath was closed due to a technical issue.

The hotel is centrally located in Tenmonkan about a 7-minute walk from the airport bus drop off. The hotel room was small but efficiently laid out with the best shower I have ever used which includes 10 side-spraying jet body nozzles! Use Google Translate and photograph the shower instructions which was easy to use. The shampoo and body wash are of high quality and the toilet includes a washlet. The matress was comfortable but the pillows were too hard for my preference. All TV programming was in Japanese. Their 6:30am-10am breakfast buffet was excellent offering a variety of things including fish, yummy scrambled eggs and pancakes! However, the menu did not vary during my 4 night stay. The restaurant is on the top floor 13 with a great view of Sakurajima. My room was on floor 8 and had a view of half of Sakurajima. The onsen, coin operated laundry machines, ice maker, coffee machine, toiletries, and microwaves are available on floor 2 where the reception area is located. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel! Pillows were too hard. Plese provide one soft pillow and one hard pillow.

Location was excellent. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean but very small. Great mattress. It sounds like a small thing, but for the price I would expect to have Netflix or some more robust streaming options.

The room was decent sized. The staff was good. They gave me 2 key cards instead of the usual one. I can keep one one card always in my wallet so i don't lock myself out. The location was near Tenmonkan Shopping Street. Their shower is pretty awesome once you figured out the complicated controls. I asked if i could check in earlier but the staff said there was a fee. They agreed to hold my bags before check in though.

My friend and are are tall Americans, and as such the rooms felt a bit small and cramped. Also the inability to control the temperature in the room made a few nights uncomfortably warm.

Great location, nice facilities and restaurant, excellent value! The lighting in the room was a bit harsh, but not a deal breaker

The location was top notch, space in the room was very good, and the laundry room and public bath were all better than average. The shower is why I picked this location over others and it was amazing, never had a better shower. I do wish the television had options for streaming services. But that is a very minor thing.

I stayed at Hotel Oriental Express Kagoshima and had a wonderful experience. The hotel has been recently renovated, and everything felt clean and fresh. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making me feel very welcome. I also really enjoyed the artificial carbonated hot spring — it was relaxing and a nice touch after a long day. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Kagoshima. One small downside was that the public bath is located on the same floor as the reception, so it felt a bit awkward walking back after a bath. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall great experience.

The hotel was very clean and in a convenient location. The room was well equipped. The bathroom was lovely! ^_^

Good location where is closed to the center of the city. However, The room that I stayed close to Main Street, so it’s not quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. I can hear the sounds of the car during the midnight. Little comfort room.
