Beds were too small for tall people

It’s very near the ferry terminals The lounge or waiting area is not that ventilated.

Its close if you're going to sakurajima and aquarium The manager made us pay for the "extra" person even though that person was already paid on this site. Technically we paid twice for one child (12 yrs old). He wanted to speak to someone in english even though my aunt is fluent in nihongo then he can't speak fluent english, I don't think he understood what we are trying to say and he just keep laughing at us. They have an option in that in dorm room you can stay with a child then you choose the age. You pay the price of 2 in one bed (thats the only available room) so we did pay it. But then on site he said by child he meant like a toddler and made us pay again the same rate as we paid online for the 12 yrs old since she's considered an extra person. It was very cheap but its not about the price its about the manager being rude about the whole situation and laughing at your face.

Location was decent as it is easy to access with the tramway. There wasn’t a single soul when I arrived. Not one. I know that it was self check in but the process was a nightmare. You have to go to your floor by yourself. Open a laptop, find a specific file with your name etc. on top of that since there wasn’t ANYONE ANYWHERE nothing could be explained to me. Need towels? Let me go all over the facilities to maybe find it… Guys, check in personnel are not just to allow guests to check in, they are also for explaining to the guests about the facilities and where everything is. I was supposed to have another night’s stay here but I cancelled after such a bad experience.

Pretty close to the ferry to Yakushima Ferry. Very cheap and basic as it was a quick overnight stay before the early ferry. Private room for two. Place seemed oddly empty of staff. Check-in was sort of self regulated but a staff member appeared briefly to help us get registered. Bed was uncomfortable. But again, it was just a brief overnight pit stop.

I left the hotel I didn’t even slept there as the smell in my room was very bad and my bedsheets were dirty. No staff in the hotel.

The location is very good, close to the ferry, tram, bus, train . Wifi works well. Rooftop. Compared to most of the hostels I've been to in Japan, there is still room for improvement regarding cleanness, lots of moisture in the male showers.

Passable

There was no one to check me in. I was meant to check myself in on a public computer with my full name in it. It did not follow the laws regarding recording foreigners

The staff member was surly. Not exactly pleased to see us.

Convenient location, bed was more comfortable than expected considering the state of the room. Low price point. The room did not match the pictures. ☹ There was random junk in the room (broken clay pot, old clock). ☹ There were used cups on the windowsill. ☹ The security of the room felt lacking in the extreme - the check-in method was a excel file containing the rooms passkey that was locked using the reservation holders name as the password, but the excel file had the reservations holders name IN the file name. ☹ There was an electrical outlet that was coming apart from the wall and seemed extremely dangerous.

It was well situated and not very expensive. The owner came to speak with us regarding a problem we had when booking and it was quickly solved. The room although spacious enough and clean enough, seemed to be a storage room with some stuff like a broken old clock and some buckets in a corner. They were not in the way but the space could have been used for something else. We had a sink in the room but no mirror and water was freezing cold. And speaking of cold, the room was very cold. We had to put the AC at maximum capacity and even after many hours the room was still cold. The common room was alright, cold as well but not many complaints aside from that. The showers were good, no problem with them. It was not at all what we saw on the pictures when booking it

The room itself was pretty good. But there was no way to lock my room from outside before leaving so i felt unsafe about my stuff. The hotel looked like it was deserted. The loby looked like it was under construction and sometimes even looked creepy. The small laundry room and around was also like it was from a horror game.

This is the third time I have stayed at M104 Guesthouse. It fills all my needs - clean, warm showers, soft bed, a kitchen, and close to ferry, bus, and streetcar transportation in Kagoshima. It is also close to a Nishimuta fullscale grocery store where I can buy food and cook it in the kitchen if I am staying more than one night. Also close to the Tempozan eating district. I have stayed at other places in Kagoshima, and this is my go-to place. When it is full I am disappointed as it is the best place for the money that I have found in Kagoshima. The check-in is automated; I have never met staff here. I always try to enter my booking reservation number or pin to check in, and get stymied. The correct checkin password is my name with no spaces and all lower case. It usually takes me about ten minutes to figure this out. Hopefully, my having written this here will remind me the next time I try to check in. And, I wish the toilets had washlet seats that were warm in the winter. These are minor inconveniences.

The hotel is very outdated, but in general it is ok. There is no bathroom in the room, it is on a separate floor (clean enough). There is almost never any staff at the counter, and when checking in, the administrator took a long time to figure out where I live. Overall, it's not bad. The location is quite convenient. The room is bright. The Internet is working.

Noce location There was a crazy man that was knocking in our door for minutes. We once opened to him, he was checking if the room is for one person and telling us not to make any noises (we literally could not walk and whisper in our room). Idk who that was, but knocking on door 15 minutes with orders to open it did not leave good impression

I liked this place! The owner is flexible, the rooms are confortable, and there is a good space for work or study on the second floor. Also the location is not too far from the city center. This place is a good choice regarding value for money. P.S. There is an elevator (from the second floor) Could be more clean. Also, the living room was a bit smelly (fried food) and a bit noisy sometime, so I studied on the second floor.
