Foremost, I liked the friendly and helpful staff when we arrived. While there was a definite language barrier, we were able to get all the information we needed about our stay, day trips, and travel to the airport. Comfortable bed. nice shower. Spotlessly clean. We requested a slightly larger room and it was quite spacious for two. Well placed light switches - I know this is seemingly trivial but it makes such a difference. Open closet to hang coats (it rained). Wonderful location for us - easy walk to waterfront, shopping, bars, restaurants. Superb breakfasts. In addition to the tray of Japanese food - fish, pork, rice, soup, savory bits - there was an open bar of fruit, yogurt, salad. Also Western breakfasts were option. If we ever return to Kagoshima, this will definitely be where we stay. Perhaps smaller breakfast options - I'm more of a coffee and yogurt in the morning person. I could have used a minimal "business" room. This was a laptop-free vacation but it came up that I needed to write and submit a long document. I was unable to find anything until we arrived in Tokyo after our Kagoshima stay.

All the staff at the reception were very helpful and kind. The amenities available were also nice quality. The air conditioning was hard to adjust.

They didn’t respond to simple questions on Booking while I was staying there. Their customer service needs to improve.

Everything about this hotel was great. The room says was good. The bed is comfortable to pajamas were comfortable in the amenities were exceptional. Additionally, the location was walkable to everything in the area, and the front desk was very helpful and very kind. There was nothing that I didn’t like about this hotel. It was top-notch exceptional, and I’m happy that I stayed here.

The rooms were of good size unlike most other similar ratings hotels in bigger cities with rooms that are really small. Staffs were polite and helpful. The coach from Kagoshima Airport practically stops right opposite the hotel. Hotel is within walking distance to Tenmonkan. And, approx 20-25mins walk to the main city. Practically nothing much that we don't like.

Laundry on 6th floor. Coin friendly. Good sound proof. Good location. No USB port. Laundry not dry enough in the end.

The location is convenient to the ferries to Sakurajima and Yakushima. There are also many nice restaurants that are only a short 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. This is the third time I've stayed at a Richmond Hotel and they all have been great. The breakfast is fantastic although a bit expensive. Nothing.

Good location. Room is clean. The laundry room is tiny. The machines could not really dry the clothes after washing by its guide. The number of the machine is too small to meet the needs.

The hotel room for 3 people was big and the beds were comfortable. We parked at the hotel for 1000 yen per night. We walked to Tenmonkan, which was nearby. There was also a convenience store across the hotel.

The staffs are very kind and smart. The restaurant they recommended was excellent! The room is bigger than I expected. You can choose if you want to ask them to clean the room and how often. Just in front of the entrance you can find the tram and bus stops. Around the hotel there are not so many restaurant and they closed earlier. You have to walk a little bit to the city center (Ten mon kan area).

Location, walking distance to ferry and tram in front of door for going to the main train station and to the shopping area. Easy check in. Provided toiletries for self picking, eco room cleaning. Bed and pillows too hard.
