Room style was great. While the room style is great, it does not function best with the awkward cupboard blocking everything and in the middle of nowhere. No power source in the right place; hence it is a very confusing hotel. Staff can have more smile, front desk can be more helpful with the check-in looking at our tired state, instead, they insist that we do the check-in via machine on our own.

We enjoyed the warehouse/loft aesthetic of what we think was formerly an office building into the Kumu Kanazawa, it is spare but comfortable, the rooms do not have a view and daylight is minimal but as we are in the room primarily in the morning and evening, it is not a huge deterrent. The shoji screen window shade is a nice way to handle the minimal window in the room.

We loved our stay at the KUMU, and actually wish we chose to stay longer! The facilities are modern, sleek, and spotless. The staff were extremely friendly. We had a full itinerary while in town, but I wish I could have stayed all day relaxing in the room and sitting on the tatami mats. I recommend taking advantage of the free drinks in the afternoon and buying a matcha and wagashi while here. The location is very centrally located — it felt like a 5-10 minute walk to everything! I have nothing negative to stay. The KUMU is awesome!

This hotel was a great location for exploring Kanazawa by foot. Easy walk from the train station or a quick taxi ride. Its location is not far from Omicho market and the castle grounds. The hotel lobby was beautifully designed and there was unique art and spaces like a tea room throughout the hotel. There is an afternoon tea service for guests and the Kissa Lounge had matcha and wagashi or coffee available for purchase. Everyone in my party enjoyed the breakfast (mix of set plate and buffet) which highlighted local ingredients. The moderate loft room was well-designed to maximize space, and was comfortable for the entire family. We also utilized the bike rentals and laundry room; both were reasonable priced and an added value to guests. The hotel also seems to put on community events like a rooftop music and wine event during our stay. Overall, it was a wonderfully experience that makes us excited to return to Kanazawa! The only downside to our room was the lack of a window with a view, but being downtown it probably would've been a view of other roofs. There was a shoji screen window that let some natural light into the room.

The complimentary drinks were great! The staff were also lovely and the breakfast was tasty. The toilet in our room smelled of urine the entire time. The facilities should offer twice as many laundry dryers as washing machines.

Amazing and very cool designed hotel for a great price. The products in the room were good quality. Beds were comfortable.The staff so helpful and we thank them for the recommendation for dinner at Coil and they even made the booking for us. Drinks available at front area for guests for the later afternoon through to evening. The location was perfect as walkable to everything we wanted to visit. For fun we hired their bikes for the 3 hours. Nothing

Beautiful minimalist hotel. Perfect combo of traditional (tatami mats) and modern (artisan cocktails at bar). The breakfast was delicious and the staff was great. Highly recommend.
