Offering free Wi-Fi and free-use bicycles and in-room Japanese meals, Sumiyoshiya is a traditional Japanese-style hotel. It features a garden, hot public baths and coin-operated laundry facilities. A free-use internet PC is available at the lobby. Rooms feature paper sliding doors, Japanese futon bedding and a seating area. Everything! A true ryokan. The onsen was beautiful and the room clean and comfortable. A must if you want to get a true Japanese experience. 20 minute walk from the city centre. But that’s ok for me.

The location was perfect, within walking distance from Kanazawa Station and close to the Omicho markets and Kanazawa Castle, Kenroku-en Gardens and many other sights. And we had lovely hot baths to soothe aching feet and muscles at the end of long days of walking and sightseeing.

Great location, spacious and comfortable rooms, shared shower/bath was fantastic given that Kimono and slippers provided, and terrific Japanese-style breakfast. Room chairs could have been more comfortable.

I like the style of the Royokan, a little bit old vintage but very authentic. The privat onsen is small but great to relax. The Japanese breakfast was delicious.

I loved everything about my stay Sumiyoshiya: my authentic (Japanese-style) living quarters, the warm welcome I received, the delicious breakfast, excellent local recommendations supplied by the host, and ideal location - just steps from the palace grounds and Kenroku-en garden. I will definitely return. Thank you for a great stay!

The hostess was extremely sweet and hospitable. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the included breakfast was absolutely delicious. The location is right next to the market and you can easily get a bus ride to the station. If you have any questions about anything the hostess is available to help you. Nothing. It was a great stay for the price.

I thought that the dinner was included but it was not. A little disappointed.

The staff were so attentive with my requests. There are complimentary hojicha and a snack available every day. It was a very comfortable room. Despite the fact that I had to use the public shower, it was an enjoyable stay.
