Blue Hour Kanazawa

The location and affordability of this hostel in Kanazawa was amazing. Just a short walk from Kanazawa station and other conveniences meant transportation was super easy througout the area, especially to the beach in our case. The pods were good sized and we slept well, and there were lots of spaces to hang out when not in bed. The pods didn't feel super private in comparison to others I've stayed in. I still felt very safe and secure, but the use of only curtains left me feeling like I was concerned about my volume throughout the stay.

Excellent location super close to the station from which all busses and trains depart. The town is very walkable (busses stop around 10pm). Very nice interactions with staff. Spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet location. I stayed in the female dorm, all beds are on the bottom (no top bunk bed) which provides lots of space to sit up in bed. Female dorm is keypad locked. Onsite washing machine (but dryer doesn't dry). No kitchen, just microwave. On the 3rd floor, no elevator. A/C was not strong enough to cool, but the dehumidifier helped. Dryer does not dry even for quick drying clothes and two 20-min cycles of drying (ended up hanging clothes to dry near dehumidifier) As with any shared housing, bring your own earplugs (and eye mask if needed) to migitate other's activities...

They had by far the most comfortable bed I've stayed in!! Also the main area was super cute and perfect to sit and hang out in! They also had lots of free tea and coffee which was a great touch

Dorm was clean as well as the bathrooms and staff were great. Nothing great location and good staff plus clean.

I like the common zone, it has beautiful view to station, it was clean. I did not like the mixed dorms, if was not well ventilated.

It was super close to the train station and had a remarkable view of it. I had access to basically everything I needed. They also have coffee for your stay.

It is next to the train station. Exceptionally clean.. The female dormitary is safe and secured.

This hostel was just 2 minutes away from the train station and a roughly 15 minute walk to Omicho Market. The hostel itself was very clean, spacious, and, as the picture shows, there’s a lot of light in the common area which I liked. The female only section of the hostel was also behind a locked door which I liked, and the capsule pod had plenty of space for myself and my luggage.

What didn't I like about this location?! It was so close to the JR Station (which was needed for my short stay). The staff were friendly, the women's area felt incredibly secure, the space was super clean, the beds were so comfortable. It was close to some shopping areas and local restaurants. It was also relatively a quiet location, so for just passing through, it was an ideal spot. The self checkout was also really nice. I couldn't recommend this place enough in all honesty. Honestly, there isn't anything I didn't like about the location. It was exactly what I was looking for. I will just say, be prepared for stairs to get up to the location and expect to take public transportation, walk, or bike to more of the historical things in the city. While those weren't downsides for me, they might be for you.

great location, extremely comfortable bed, good and clean facilities, fresh towels everyday, friendly staff, absolutely great place only complaint was that the dryer wasn't strong enough, but they told that in advance and recommend a nearby coin laundry. but it was snowing so i used it anyway and the staff offered me some extra hangers to help it dry, so not really a problem

The women's dorms were spacious and comfortable.

Free coffee too and I could leave my luggage the day of the check out till late (23hours), which was great because I had a night bus at that time so I just stayed in the lounge from 8:00 - 10:00 The shower room is past the area of the kitchen so if it is people around, you have to pass by them, not a big deal

Very close to the Kanazawa JR station. You got everything around you. The location is superb. Basically, it’s so good that even its size is great, there’s quite a small amount of people staying, means no busy bathrooms and lobbies, and you have everything you need including the washing machine and free drinks. The bed private area is also good with spare space and hooks. You can organizing your stuff.

The bed and pillow were soft. Also, there was a Dyson hair dryer (it would turn off several times though) and a curler/straightener. They provided slippers and a fresh towel every day. Its loud and there is no sound proofing. You can hear everything just outside the dorms including all the noises from the mixed gendered area since its all technically open for ventilation. It ran a tad warm. There are 3 flights of stairs and no elevator to get up to the hostel.

theres not a lot of space to store bags in the bunk beds, so if you have a large bag or more than 2 smaller bags booking a singular bed would be a lot more comfortable.

It was quiet and right near the station and many good restaurants. The beds were comfy and quiet and i got a towel change everyday. In addition the coffee and tea service was nice. Oh and the cost was very good for Japan so i really appreciated that after many expensive stays. It was a little strange but basically seemed as if there are no staff there ever. Except in early morning to clean. It felt very impersonal. For me it was fine but always felt strange. Like a store without a sales clerk.

I liked that I was at the end of the mixed room, with no one directly above me especially because I was staying for an extended period of time. There was no stove top to do some cooking. Not a huge deal though.
