Very convenient location, nice and quiet and within close range to station and bus stop. There’s Lawson nearby too. Our room was more spacious than the photo, though 3 adults with 3 luggages in 1 room made the space minimal, was a very comfortable place to stay.

We stayed in room 312, and it had a musty/body odor smell when the ventilation was on. Not sure why.

Location wise is still manageable for walking from JR Karuizawa Station to Hotel, which is about 10 minutes. Nearby to 2 convenient store, Lawson and Family Mart. Free Shuttle Van to JR Karuizawa Station. The hotel arranged for extra trip to the station as there are too many occupant checking out on the same time which is a plus point. Free evening drinks and coffee. Free breakfast provided. Have to hand in the room key to the hotel reception every time leaving the room, which we feel insecure of not having a room key. Staff attitude can be improved especially one male reception with spectacle which I don't find it friendly to deal with.

Might be a bit of a walk with very young children. Nothing much to do in the hotel itself and within the immediate proximity. They stopped the bicycle rental the day we checked in so didn't get to utilise the rental service

The hotel staff is outstandingly friendly and helpful. I liked the very nicely made map of sightseeing attractions in the room. The beds were comfortable and the room quite spacious for Japanese standards. My 3 yr old child could stay without additional charge and even got a children overnight set and rental PJs. We booked a non-smoking room, but the room and especially the bathroom in the morning had a strong cigarette smoke smell coming from the air outlet, it disappeared in the afternoon. The room was basic, nothing special. The bathroom was very small and very different from the pictures shown on booking.com. The breakfast was also basic, no fruits and very limited fresh vegetables. For all this, the price I paid was quite high, around 32k per night for a family of 3.

The hotel location is just an easy flat 6 min walk from the JR shinkansrn station. It's a lovely little hotel with new facilities, and the hot water pressure through the rain shower is excellent. I had the family toom, which was very spacious. The free breakfast was nasic, but very sufficient. And on top of it all, the staff eas ALWAYS courteous and helpful, ftom having our room key ready when we returned before we even asked, and providing color prints of nus schedules and recommendations. I can't recommend Hotel Rosso enough for a stay in Karuizawa. Nothing
